I just received a photo from Uruguay of a variation on Hiriart's catalog set number 1335 Heroico Colegio Militar, Mexico which as nine foot figures. This is a special double set with the figures mounted.

Mike...that's a lovely set...so shiney...so pretty...

Thanks Mike. It is hard to beat glossy toy soldiers on parade for their visual impact. This is a another Hiriart double set variation (a little out of focus) of the Heroico Colegio Militar Mexico on foot which also makes an impressive display. Note the eagle mascot bearer.

Mike, those are a couple of real sharp looking sets. -- Al

Thank you Al, I agree. Believe it or not, there is a third special double set variation---this time as a drum and bugle corps band. One could make quite an attractive display with all three of these sets.

This is a stock photo of Hiriart's regular catalog set number 1335 on which the three previously posted special double sets are based. There is also a close up of the figure with the eagle mascot. I have this set in my collection; it represents the first Mexican military set that I have.

Thanks, Brad, they are nice. I have the special five figure mounted set on a future order for me and the full ten figure set for Bob Walker. Hiriart also has catalog sets of the Mexican Naval and Air Force academies which I don't have in my collection, but have posted elsewhere. There are also non-catalog drum and bugle corps sets for each academy. It is hard to beat Hiriart, as one would expect, when it comes to covering Latin American military units.
