Mountford's latest set is now available and depicts a scene in Britain during the Blitz. It consists of two buildings, a vehicle and five figures.
The buildings are unusual because (A) they are undamaged, unlike most such offerings on the market, (B) they are British, ditto the previous and (C) they are shops. They are provided with ample window space to display various goods, clear acetate for the windows and could provide an ideal backdrop of a British street for any period from mid Victorian up to the present day. Each shop costs £57.95 painted or £39.95 in kit form.
The vehicle is a humber converted to a YMCA mobile canteen and is complete with all interior detail and five figures. Cost is £94.50 painted and £59.95 as a kit.
The figures consist of a female within the wagon serving tea, a fireman, two civil defence workers and a policeman. Available seperate from the vehicle as a set at £59.95 painted or £35.95 in kit form, or individually at £15 painted or £8.50 kit.
Mountford will have all of these at the London Show in December along with a lot of exciting special show offers on their stand in the smaller hall.
Their entire range can be viewed at www.mountfordmodels.co.uk

Wow wish they had a dealer here in the States! I would love an unpainted kit.

KV if you Email Dave Love I am sure he will be able to inform you as to who will be stocking his products in the States. To the best of my knowledge this is under review at this present moment. His Email address is dlove@supanet.com and he will be only too happy to discuss things with you.

These are very nice. I can see these buildings for my Coronation display and perhaps the van as a concession stand for the masses. :D Looking forward to seeing the other new releases as well.

Well that settles my first call at the show! Must make sure I get one of these before they all go. Hope there are more examples in the pipeline.

It struck me that it might work with an airfield scene, many of the warbirds are 1/32, is that compatible?

Should be quite acceptable although as I recall most of the airfield mobile canteens were either NAAFI, Salvation Army or Malcolm Clubs. Just needs a change of logo.

I may or may not be so particular, but thanks for the 'heads up'.

Got rapped over the knuckles by Dave for forgetting to say that the figures are also available painted in gloss if so desired. Please state clearly when ordering.
