OK, I need some ideas.

How is the best way to mount a heavy 4.5 lb mounted knight to a wood base for display? I am assuming some type of glue. Any recommendations? Here are the figures below I want to mount on wood bases. Then I will add engraved plates on the side of the base.

Hi Darrell

Those are really nice looking!

I would look at no glue because for the issues that will cause down the line. I would consider getting a router and routing out a nook in the wood base that the soldiers base would fit in. You'd need a jig and a template to do this so I only suggest this if you or a friend are very good at wood working otherwise find a base and set it on it. Then apply some tacky wax and they sould stay set in well enough as long as you arent handleing them too much.

Sorry if this isnt much help.

NO NO NO, you guys are missing the point. The knight is supposed to stay on the base.

Follow these simple directions and you will be amazed::) guaranteed
1.) Drill a hole through the figure's base plate, oh say about 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter.
2.) Drill the same size hole through and through the base.
3.) Using a stainless steel rod sized to fit through the hole in the figures base plate and the base, fit the rod through both holes.
4.) Weld two stainless steel plates about 4 inches square on both ends of the rod, thereby retaining the figures base plate and the base together.
5.) Be sure to use liquid-steel between the figure's base plate and the soon to be welded steel plate on top of it.
6.) Secure both stainless steel plates, now welded in place, with four heavy-duty industrial sized C-clamps to fit.
7.) Then weld or destroy the threads on the C-clamps so that the tension can not be released.
That should hold it. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Now for a dose of reality, I would not attach them. I would just sit them on it and not cause permanent harm to either the figure or the base. But that's just my choice if I were to own them.:)

Thank you gentlemen. I believe just placing the guys on the wood bases is the best idea. I appreciate your input.

You have some very cool figures. It is just too bad that there are so many cool figures and I don't have enough cash. But, it is great to see someone has them who values them as much as I do. Keep collecting, don't miss a one.
