Bought my first First Legion this past weekend. It's a great figure - my photo doesn't do it justice. He's a bit lonely at the moment, but plan to give him some support in the near future.

Great choice of figure - I'm sure it won't be your last...^&cool :smile2:

Very nice. They make some superb figures. Not sure I can entice you into some American Civil War figures but here's one of the best ones.

IMO the ACW is, by far, the best new releases of 2011...great figure Brad....

Yes, your standard bearer will need some help if he is to survive!^&grin Enjoy adding to your collection as you hop onto the First Legion bandwagon.

Now that is a beautiful figure {bravo}}{bravo}} Love your choice of background . I would love to see some infantry with the Helmets preferably ' German ' this time around but i must admit these 'Hungarian' grenadiers are just beautiful ^&grin Thanks for sharing and welcome aboard .. Regards Gebhard

The Austrians are beautiful figures! My personal favorites so far are the Nassau troops. We need some more cavalry though!

Hi my friend ,
What ya looking for most ?? Have any specific Cav in mind ? Regards Gebhard

I don't know my friend, there are so many. If 2012 is the year of the French and their allies, I would love to see French Hussars or Dragoons. Also the Bavarians were first released, maybe some Bavarian Hussars or Uhlans. Saxon Heavy Cavalry would be great also.
What would you like to see?

Hi Dave ,
Would buy at all cost Bavarian Chevau-Legers or the Saxon Heavy Cavalry from the Zastrow Cuirassiers ^&grin Would also love to able to reproduce the Charge of Napoleon's Grenadier a Cheval of the Guard at Waterloo .. That would be something to see .. Of course we desperately need more PRUSSIANS ....hey they were at Borodino :wink2: .. Like you said my friend there are just sooo many . Regards Gebhard

Got, the Same One. And he does look great. And I will concentrate on the Austrians, Until I get most of them. I missed out on most of the British First Foot Guards ( I only have 4 of those pieces, plus I will be buying The last 4 pieces, that I do not have that is still avaiable.), So word of advise Concentrate On the Austrians, Until you are Content. Or kinda feel bad for missing out like me. on some great pieces.

Thanks guys, happy to be on board. Have admired First Legion for some time now. FL's high quality and craftsmanship as well as the use of proper human proportions in the sculpting of their figures makes them true military miniatures. I also admire FL's willingness to provide collectors with some historical subjects often avoided by other makers in the belief '' it just wouldn't sell ''.

Starting to aquire First Legion after many years of toy soldier collecting was not an easy decision. It's hard to change collecting habits, but money and display space seems more than ever at a premium.
For myself, it was time for a change of focus on this hobby - Happily First Legion can provide that change. - Ken

I too want to consentrate on the Austrian Grenadiers, but also want to pick up some of the Prussian Infantry. I think the Prussians have been around for awhile now and would hate to see them start to disappear before I can collect a few. ( As you have experienced w/ the British Foot Guards )

The upcoming French 18th Line Rgmt. also look very appealing. :rolleyes2: Happy collecting.

the prussian are even better than the austrians
faces of prussian figures are superb
cheers

It is fun collecting these, because so far, on the things that I have bought that is First legion, all has been superb. And I Can see your point about getting the Prussians. Just do not get stuck, regretting what you have not gotten. When you focus on two different Armies.

You got me convinced, Alex. Just ordered the standard bearer. And will decide on which one (The Prussians or The Austrians) I will continue on when I get it.

I too think I am going to have to grab at least the Prussian Officer, Standard Bearer and Drummer in anticipation of Blucher coming! I have just picked up Wellington, Uxbridge and Vandeleur and they are stunning pieces...the best 'toy soldiers' I have ever seen from any manufacturer!

I am a new FL collector but was so lucky when about 6 months ago (just as I was considering getting into FL) I found a fellow forum member who sold me ALL the British Foot Guards as a job lot, I think that I would likely not have become a collector had that not happened. I have thought about selling them recently but I don't think I could do it, knowing I would never be able to get them again should I want them.

Miracles like that don't happen often though, so my advice is grab what you think you want now and if it turns out you bought too much or change your mind about a piece, sell it...the second-hand market prices of retired FL pieces are equal to if not higher than the market values. See it as a very fun and interesting investment!

Thanks, to everyone!!, that steered me to the Prussians. I just got the Standard Bearer ( And he looks great!!) (but then again, I have not had one piece that First Legion made where I was not happy with it), I will be concentrating on them until I have at least one of each piece ( I missed out on The British Guards, For good reason of course. But still....) . The Austrians Can wait for now.
By the way A few of you are saying that Blucher will be coming out. But I have not read any information from First Legion emails or web site. Is that for real?
