These are my Airfix figures I got recently to check out scale size and quality to help me when I do my own figures.....I am more than impressed with both....very slight difference in figure size's which I put down to which ever uniform the soldier is wearing....a soldier wearing a shirt would be less bulky than a soldier wearing a para smock.....likewise French N uniform.....I reckon the figure's are great,,,though...because of the brilliant way the webbing...strap's mainly ...are compressed onto the figure....how the golly do you mob manage to paint them so well ?....Tom

TomB,
This shot is a good few years old, but does show how the old Airfix can paint up ok!

Hey..I got a garden like that too.....my keyboard cant spell..that was Lae..not Lai...the local beer was called South Pacific..I think..Gawwwwwd..it tasted awful..was.glad when the boozer shut and could'nt get any more...."Be Specific..ask for South Pacific" was the slogan for the booze.....I cannot type what our slogan was.....cheers Tom

They all look good, Tom!

I agree about Airfix quality, especially back in the day, when they were the most available to young modelers. I used the British 8th Army and Afrika Korps figures with my armor kits. Right out of the box, they made good figures for dioramas.

Prost!

I think the Airfix figures I have are old stock......whatever..I am wrapped in them.....I am amazed at the correct detail and sculpturing....I have had a bit of experience with the uniforms..wpns and webbing ( all the wpns...equipt.... etc was used for yrs after WW11) .....all spot on to my eyes.......TomB
