Just watched an excellent movie on Masterpiece Theater with the above title. It is about Rudyard Kipling's son John, a subaltern in the 2nd Irish Guards who was killed during the battle of Loos early in the course of WWI. Anybody interested in this subject matter might want to get your Tivo working. Mr. Kipling has written much on the British Army both before and after the loss of his son. Would highly recommend this program.
