My Collection Soldaditos Hiriart (1 Viewer)

Alcuino, welcome to the forum. I really liked your 32 second YouTube Hiriart toy soldier video. I recognized all of your figures with the exception of the naval officer (?) in the red vest. Is he an older figure or is he from a special, non-catalog set? Was that Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor in the background?

Also, I spotted another YouTube video entitled "Jamie Hiriart Soldados de Plomo" which ran for 3:32 minutes. I don't speak Spanish, but believe the older man in the yellow sweater is Jamie Hiriart.

Mike, thank you very much.

The naval officer is "Corto Maltese" the character from the comics of Hugo Pratt, a special figure.

The music, yes, is Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 Op. 46: II Aase's death.

About the other video: Jaime Hiriart explains the serendipity origins of his ART.

Hi Alcuino,

Can you tell us something about your collection? Do you collect just Hiriart? Do you buy direct from Hiriart or from a local dealer? How big is your collection? What areas are you interested in (e.g. World War II, Latin America, etc.).

When you get a chance, can you give us a synopsis of what Jaime Hiriart is saying in the other video? In the future, I would like to write an article about Hiriart for Toy Soldier & Model Figure magazine like I did about Imperial Productions in the September 2007 issue.

Best regards,

Brad,

You must have been an infant when you lived in Montevideo and that must have been a pre-school. Seriously, do you remember much about those four years?

Mike,

I was there from 1st to 3rd grades and believe it or not I do remember quite a bit as it was a great time to live there. I owe a lot to the Republica Oriental.

Brad
