This is a positive thread about First legion, if your gonna rain on the parade, please stay home.

With the new pre-orders just announced, plus the new line of Romans man this is turning out to be a great year to collect First Legion!!!!that's right, good ol' rah-rah from one of the collectors of First Legion, opps can I say that?? don't wanna upset anyone who doesn't collect First Legion:) seriously though, the year started a little slow for my line (Stalingrad) but has shifted gears greatly!!!!can't wait to see the grey Opel and now some winter stuff coming out, plus Matt mentioned a vehicle later this year for towing for the 155 gun!!! so life is grand with FL right now, I'm excited every week to see what new line, new troops from whatever line comes out, this IS what the hobby is truly about, excitement and enjoyment!!!!and it's only May!!! what else does First Legion have in store for us this year??? if it is good as the first 5 months, it's gonna be a great next 7 months!!! keep up the great work First Legion....a rah-rah cheer....keep it rolling Matt my man, nobody can beat us that's our plan!!!!! gooooooooo First Legion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)Sammy

I'm on board!!!!! With the announcement of the "Glory of Rome" line I could not be a happier camper then what I am now. Last Sept. in Chicago I really liked what I saw between the WWII and Crusader products. Unfortunately I've never been to much into the eastern front and I was really close to pulling the trigger on making my 1st FL purchase with the crusaders but I decided to go with something else that I sorta regret now. The past is the past so I won't dwell on regrets and move forward with FL as one of my main companies to collect. I'm very excited that I placed my 1st pre-order for the 8 released Romans. I'm sure from what I have saw and from the many great comments about FL products that I have read that I will be very pleased with the figures. In fact depending on how things go I might just take up that crusader line as well and if the western front of WWII is ever explored then I would definitely collect those as well.

Nothing wrong with RAH RAHing! It's great to see collectors jazzed up about their hobby{sm4}! FL is really making some great stuff, time to pick up a few more Prussians{eek3}. It's hard to believe just a few years ago (10-15 years) it seems like the choices were pretty narrow in the TS world. What a great time to be collecting. I ended up passing on the FL ACW stuff...man I think I'm gonna regret that, because I thought they might do some of the NAP units others won't touch or revisit and sure enough they just keep popping them out! ^&cool^&cool

It great to see all the new stuff being released , The Romans look pretty
tempting but I am going to stick to Naps for now as they still have more
pull for me than any of the other lines.

Kind of my feeling but I'm a sucker for CAV so if FL releases some mounted Roman figures I'm gonna have to get a least a few of them even if they don't go with my conte. They will just be too flippen ^&cool to pass up!

yeah its always tougher when they hit your collecting soft spot ,
I have found my collecting a lot easier by staying focused as
opposed to my previous scatter gun aproach :) .

Don't worry Joe, sooner or later First Legion will do the Western Front, just hang it there, besides lots of other stuff at the moment:)...Sammy

MMM...I wouldn't call my approach scatter gun...maybe "dynamite fishing"{eek3}{sm4}! I stay focused... just not for very long:). Seriously though, I've seen some simply stunning collections that are centered not just around one time era like NAPS etc but even a particular battle or campaign. That approach takes a lot more patience and time but can really pay off with spectacular results.

I agree there are some diverse collections I have seen posted here that are amazing , space is the real premium for me [I,ve got a few other eras covered via
my imperial ]. If I add any more more display space my wife will start using the
scatter gun {eek3}[I could just see her melting down soldiers like mel Gibson in the patriot].

LMAO! perhaps some secret access tunnel to your contraband hide out... right next to the moon-shine ...errr "home brewing facility"? It is rather hard to stay focused as you said. I swear every time I say...okay NAPS only ...someone like FL comes out with a release like their ACW or this new Roman line. It would be a lot easier if they made stupid figures with 3 arms and such but the quality just keeps stepping up a notch. It's kind of like remodelling a house ...fix the bathroom up and the kitchen starts looking a little shoddy. Fix the kitchen up and the living room furniture seems a little dated...it never ends. The problem I have is I love all my TS for different reasons so I can't get rid of any of them...even my old Britains and tradition glossies. Luckily I have an understanding wife...who doesn't know how to fire a scatter gun!{sm4}{eek3}{sm4}

LOL :smile2: you could be onto something I can just see it now, First legions latest Nap release willy wonka and his oompa lumpa cavalry. Followed closely by other mfgs similar lines [success will be judged by the first company to go bust].

Paulo , as has been said in many fairly average Adam Sandler movies
"you can do it " ;) . [and even if you dont i,m sure you will enjoy the sidetrack]

Nice to see positive comments on fl.I only have a few figures but that will change with the roman's.they look amazing now i just have to see scale wise if i can use them with my aeroart --st.pete's -conte---king & country or the new conte and cs roman's coming.A great time to collect figures .so many options and sadly only so much money. This line is so good looking i can not pass them up.If everything in the line looks like the first figures i will find a way to buy it all.

Sammy, i think that you will be happy...2011 is the 70th anniversary of Barbarossa....Maybe a T-34 for the Russians celebration...
