Hey all,

I am in the process of cleaning out my grandparents apartment and have been moving their paintings to my home and documenting them.

I need some advice on how to get them appraised, insurance, storage, etc. The paintings cover several phases of my grandfathers life - 1920's through the 1950's in the Bronx, NYC, Coney Island, Niceville Florida where Eglin Field was/is located where he served during WWII and other subjects.

Any advice would be appreciated - it's hard to come by for this kind of stuff.

Between both of my grandparents, I have near 100 paintings and hundreds of prints.

Alderfer's Auctions in Hatfield PA is a good outfit. I don't know you're planning on selling any of them, they could certainly help with that, but I think they'd be able to recommend or even offer appraisal services.

Their website is http://www.alderferauction.com/

Hope that helps!
