My new book "IN THEIR OWN WORDS-THE FINAL CHAPTER" has just been published and is at the printer's with delivery set in 2 weeks.
Over 80 illustrious fighter aces have given "first person" stories on their combat triumphs, humor or tragedies they experienced in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. Army Air Force, Air Force, Navy and Marine aces have contributed their recolections and stories. Also a superb section on military test pilot's harrowing adventures is included.
The average age of these remarkable, patriotic pilots is 89 and in a few years they will be but a footnote to our great military heritage. Of the total of 1,473 fighter aces our country has produced in all conflicts only 150 are still alive.
My first book "IN THEIR OWN WORDS" from 2007 with "first person" stories from over 120 fighter aces then living is also available. I'm a long time member of the "Friends of the American Fighter Aces" and have met and interviewed these legendary pilots over the past 20 years.
