Late last month my Internet Service Provider informed me that my ‘Complimentary Web Space’ that houses my website has reached it’s ‘End of Life’ and they will no longer provide that service from 11 July!!!
The old 'Toy Soldier Online Gallery' has been going now for just over 25 years … where has all that time gone, well I know, painting toy soldiers, as well as live in general!!!
I’d always wanted my own domain, so I spent a week or so researching what is available with other providers here in Perth, and found a suitable one, so over the past weeks I have registered the domain, then edited my webpages to reflect the new addresses and finally uploaded all my pages and images there…..phew a BIG job. I have even done my June update for what I’ve painted over the past couple of months.
The new URL is www.toysoldiergallery.au to reflect the content of the site and that it is from Australia.
I still regular revise the front page to show what I’ve been painting over the past two months but the website has remained virtually the same over those year, mainly because I can still do my own editing but I don’t have time or inclination to learn a new system and then migrate all my images to a new setup.
If you have my site bookmarked, please change the address because it may take some time for Google to find me again.
Thanks,
John
