Hi All,

We did some product photography at the weekend and that lead me to spend some time with my own pieces from our Belgian range. Here are a few photo's. Just wanted to share and hear comments from you really, hope you like what I have done. They spend there life in my cabinet so, to have chance to play with "the company" diorama boards was too big a temptation!

Malcolm. :salute::

Excellent diorama. As you know I have all 8 Belgians but would like to get the machine gun and crew. Really inventive set that adds something different to the WW1 figures being currently marketed.

If you haven't tried these figures then I urge you to get some. Great value.

Also on the same note your Royalist musketeers look great grouped together. Size is slightly bigger than my ATS figures but could blend. So tempted.....

Malcolm,

Had I seen these photos earlier, I would not have made a you know what of myself :redface2: I'm sure I will be purchasing a few. Look forward to seeing your British figures.

Any chance you can tackle German figures.

Thanks Gary, praise indeed!

I suppose the joy of being the owner is that I get to have stacks of diorama boards to play with, along with access to my figures at a good price :smile2:

Your photos of the 8 Belgians you do have of ours were an inspiration if I am honest, part of why I like collectors to share with me / us on here.

Not sure if you ever saw Father Ted but, your comment made me think of the far away, not so far away sketch :D Put mine to the rear of the cabinet or diorama :p

Thanks for the comment, it is appreciated, as you know.

very best,

Malcolm. :salute::

Hey Brad,

That really is very gracious of you. I tell you, if I had a Dollar or a Pound for every time I have ended up feeling I had put my size ten feet in my size 14 mouth I would be retiring ^&grin You said what you said based on the knowledge you had then so hey, you were being honest with you opinion at that time. (you should have heard the things my wife said about me before we started dating! :D ).

For a preview of the BEF figures, look on the news page of our web site http://www.empiremm.co.uk/epages/es782307.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es782307/Categories/News to see a couple of pre master images. Further images should be released of the next 3 BEF figures in about 2 weeks on Facebook. I will also ping them on the forum.

And, re the Germans. Well, you cannot have Cowboys and no Indians to play with can you? 2016 should see the Hun making an appearance and, if the range plan goes to plan, in big style my friend!

Thanks again Brad, you are like myself, an all round good guy and a gentleman.

These are really fine looking figures and the subject matter make them special as only TGM has done any Belgians in this type scale. This leads to my question, how do these figures compare in size to the 1/30 scale KC figures and the TGM figures? Has anyone got both to do a comparison? I would love to add some of these to my 1914 dio which contains KC, TGM, and Del Prado figures. -- Al

Al,

I think they're 1/30.

Brad
Brad, I thought I read they were 58mm, but that should be a negligible difference, especially with the variables of measuring from different points. Was just curious as I am sure to be buying some of them.:wink2: -- Al

Al,

Just went to their website and, yes, you're right, 58mm. Still, like you said, should work.

Hi Guys,

Scale, arrrgghhhh :) The big question asked of all of us manufacturers. To try and help, I took some pieces out of my cabinet last night from the various manufacturers I collect myself and lined them up, almost in an identity parade style, to help you see where we fit in. I really hope this helps. I tend to move any larger pieces to the rear of a diorama / display to help the eye line.

The line up on the top right is: TGM, Del Prado, Britain's current, Britain's old Opening Moves, Empire, JJD, and K&C

Best wishes, Malcolm. :salute::

Scale discussions have provoked a great deal of debate on this Forum, to put it mildly, although usually on WW II. For me, it's never been that important as I have a variety of WWI figures and I'm sure they all differ to a certain extent.

Hey Brad,

Same off the forum too :).

Like you, I have all kinds and, my attitude is, if I like it, I will buy it. Now, where can I fit that Ballantyne Scots a Grey figure in {sm4}

Stay happy,

Malcolm. :salute::

The Belgians would seem to mix very well with Britains and JJD but the KC and TGM figures are quite larger. I will simply display any Belgians that I get with my early war Britains from the Opening Moves series. They appear a perfect match. Many thanks for the excellent comparison pictures. -- Al
