How to make a great figure, NA 68 wounded Highlander, an even better figure. I have spent a lot of time and money building a formation of Highlanders using NA 36, Highlander with rifle. These figures are standing in reserve behind the main fighting line, a most impressive display. All of these figures, NA 36, are standing with their muskets on their right side. It would have been wonderful to have been able to add a little animation to the scene by being able to add a soldier getting wounded. However, the new wounded Highlander is holding his musket in his left hand. This totally looks wrong and out of place.

The figure is still great and will be proudly displayed in the front line with the other Highlanders portraying the fighting square.

With a little forethought the wounded figure could have been sculptured holding his musket in his right hand, and then the figure could have been used in either display.

Andy, please keep the Highlanders coming and I would love to see additional 71st Highlanders as well.

Kings man, I understand your point. However, the musket in the left hand is accurate. Your right hand does most of the work loading and firing so having the left hand gripping the musket almost constantly is correct, even if the figure just got nailed, it seems to make sense the left hand is still holding the musket.

A Highland square of these beauties has got to be impressive!!!!
I feel so weak!
I may have to break down and replace the 54mm Blackwatch I have. Also the KGL are looking very impressive as well.Sigh.
FUBAR:D

Fubar,

I see your point that the left hand may be the more natural and common position for the musket.

It helps to ease my disappointment that there was a reason for placing the musket in that hand.

Thanks for helping to possibly explain K & C's thinking.
