I've actually had this very early production NCO Historex resin kit for some time now. Never got past the prelim preparatory stage because....

Just came across it again the other day and realised that the legs were too long making the figure at about 58mm tall and so, I snipped them off and reshaped the thighs to the shortened legs. The piece is obviously based on this Knotel painting featured in one of my Elting Napoleonic books.

I think that I can now finish this simple piece off and I am now placing it as a thread here.

Just removed the head to repose it. Anyway, the rest of the figure has been assembled as per the kit. I added a small tiny pin insert myself into the musket which was cut in half to fit into the right hand - a stupid assembly concept. The rest of the Historex parts backpack and sword were glued on. The front pouch is a resin casting, smaller than the typical historex bullet pouch. The whole figure was fixed onto a simple wooden base.

Added the rolled cloak to the top of the backpack. Reattached the head and sculpted the neck and collar. the figure was painted to represent a carabineer.

Hello Nap,

thanks for your kind comments. I was surprised that this figure is turning out to be quite colourful. I think that the red epaulette fringes work well with the brown and green uniform, and khaki straps and leggings. These pics show the final painting all round, awaiting work on the groundwork.

Added some foliage to the groundwork. That's it for this piece except for a shiny new nameplate.
