Or better K & C going dutch. As one of my Guards fell of a disply and I ended uo with some bits and bends I decided not to repair it but turn it in a Dutch Guard. What do you think of it. It is not the best paintjob I have done as I am working on something else but it was fun to do. Hope you like it.

Richard,

well done! Its great to see someone else showing off his repair work on K&C figures. I have been thinking of doing a repaint on some French Line Infantry, to make them Artillery, so I'll share that when its done.

John

Hi Richard.

I do enjoy repairs and repaints of King & Country Naps on the forum. I just wish i had the nerve and the talent to give it a go myself. So i must take my hat off to you!!:D:D Great stuff and thankyou.

Best wishes Mark.

Hi Obee

That is something i would like to see. French foot transformed into gunners , can't wait to see the outcome.!!:D:D:D.

Very much looking forward to your creations, and hopefully in the very near future.;);)

Best wishes Mark

Great Job - outstanding repaint !

You can never have too many NAPOLEONICS !! :D :D :D

I do like it very much; nice work indeed. Since the Dutch are not one of my main areas of Napoleonic interest I didn't notice before that their uniforms were so interchangable (except for colors) with the French.;)

To all, thanks for the compliment. It does make me want to do more. The uniform is interchangable except the Dutch guards did not had the copper plate om their bearskin. Did anyone spot the difference?

Obee, thanks and awaiting your paintjob. Please send photo's.

Regards,

Richard

Indeed I did note that difference and you did a great job making the removal appear as though the plate was never there. I was actually wondering how you replicated the bearskin texture on that spot?

I missed that. I too would like to know how you removed the plate and replicating the bearskin. Was there simply a copper plate actually on top of bearskin and just removing the plate got the result?

Terry

I did not remove the plate but filled it in with green stuff, a modeling puty from Games Workshop. It is a kneadable two component puty and I use it to repair figures. The bearskin patron was made with a dentical instrument suplied by my dentist:D

Richard

great alteration Richard,i have 3 Imperial Dutch guards from the Orion range that includes a sapper, you may have given others an idea, what to do when they lose interest in their Blue Coated French Imperial Old guard Figures.Could be a little sideline for someone with an artists eye.

Ah thanks Richard for the explanation. That was nicely done. In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing a closeup of the headgear showing that area before and after. Nice assist by your dentist as well.;)

Fornlornhoper,

Thanks I have the Orion Guards too. They do not fit in with K & C but I'm glad I got them in the collection. The anumation is good. Now you mention the sapper. Waht I realy would like to see a guard sapper from K & C, I don't care if it's blue or white. I need one to acompany my flagofficer.

Richard

Spitfrnd,

I took some close ups, to see for myself anyway how it worked out. I made even a before and after photo:p It seemed to work, the tendist tool.

Richard

Many thanks for the closeups. As I thought, they make the change even more impressive. Your change is really seamless.
