We are also pleased start the pre-order of the last of our French releases (in 2012 anyway!) to put an end to the "Year of the French." I've been asked repeatedly when we would do a new French Artillery set to replace the long sold out NAP0019 French 12lb Artillery Set. Well, here it is - The French Guard Horse Artillery with 6lb Gun! We've packaged these figures as individual sets rather than as a large single set to allow maximum flexibility as well as to enable collectors to build it up more slowly over time. These are truly stunning figures and and will make a wonderful addition to Napoleonic collections around the world!

These look great , my Nap display just didnt look quite right without some artillery for the French so
these are a must have for me.

What a great day for First Legion collectors - All these new upcoming releases. Of all the pre-orders posted today this French Guard Horse Artillery is my favorite. Beautiful set of figures.

Beautiful set of Figures.....Glad that Matt is releasing them individually as it allows us time to purchase them and yet stay within a TS budget...Superb Release{bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}..FIRST LEGION RULES

These are simply stunning, what a superb set.

Kudos to you Mr Matt.................

Matt,

Another superb craftmanship to you and crew. This is must for collectors like myself. :):):). IMHO I like this better than the last one.

Even more GUNS AND GUNNERS :)

Now NAPs :)

I'm not that the pose is righ for the gunner running with the charge, just as the gun is about to be fired though?

He should be standing back, like the one with the handspike and ready to bring the gun back into postion, and then loading after the barrel is swabbed out...

Anyway, thats minor crticism..... becuse it looks so good

John

What we need now is an ammunition caisson parked behind the gun from which the gunner is running with the next roll. I think it would correct to show him running up with the next roll while the gun is being fired. Each gunner had a job; it would have been this gunner’s job to have the next roll ready so as not to delay the loading.

It’s so nice to have French artillery again. Nicely done FL!

Thank you Matt

Hi Guys ,
Every time I look at this set I like it more and more {bravo}}{bravo}} May well just be their best work to date {bravo}}{bravo}} Yea I want one .. Regards Gebhard

Love the set
Wonder why gunner with handspike and
gunner with cartridge don't have a plume
not a complaint just wondering
I will get one of those set for sure

Totally agree with that comment, so its an incorrect pose.... lets blame the photographer :)

maybe they fell off on the way to the battle...... ???

Who would want a plume like that on the gun line...??

OK for the parade ground..... :)

Well put! Call it the balance between historically setting up the figures correctly and being able to put together a single marketing photo which shows them all without one way off to the right side running up to the gun. ^&grin

This set looks fantastic and my kudos to the idea of allowing for individual flexible buying. Downside: prices keep rising, individual figures are now costing...65USD{eek3}. Only recently they had risen to 60USD (French Light Infantry and they came up from the forties... Not good...

Yey!!!, Definitely a Must buy for me. I have been looking All Over, For the First Artillery Set. And This Will Be as great!!.

I could not find any non-stock photos of this set other than Guy's brilliant photos of the French Horse artillerists in front of his windmill. So, for those who are still on the fence, here is one of my photos.

Touch with utmost caution: I am presently experimenting with grass mats. Sometimes not so successfully. But what the heck.

Fantastic photo. Who made the background materials?

Again, very well done.

Brad

Hello Brad,
A very nice staging and wonderful pic:salute::
A great addition to your FL collection!
Many thanks to share.
Best,
Xavier

Thank you for your kind words. It is very much appreciated.

Brad, there are three levels to the background: first, several JG trees, then the hedgerow from H&A and lastly a photo of a meadow with trees. For that reason the layout is actually quite deep and I am using a telephoto lens to pull it all together again.

As I said, my biggest challenge right now is the grass mat. This one is a moss mat from MICHAELS. I might have to flatten it somewhat to make it look acceptable.

Again, thank you for the encouraging comments.
