We are very pleased to continue our coverage of the Battle of Aspern Essling with the addition of these wonderful Austrian Artillery figures. With six different figures and 2 cannon variants, there are a variety of display options and Aspern Essling (or other dioramas featuring Napoleonic Austrians) can really take to take shape. There are a few interesting points about Austrian artillery. First, the gunners consisted entirely of volunteers, not conscripts, giving them a high level of professionalism and esprit de corps. Second, the Austrians were the only major nationality to not have a fully developed system of horse artillery and gunners didn't have individual horses to ride during movement. They rode either on modified caissons or made use of a seat that was designed to sit on the gun trail and we have presented that option here with the 7 pound howitzer. These figures make a wonderful addition to any serious Napoleonic figure collection!

Matt,

great to see some more NAP artillery, and especially Austrians, who seem to have been out of flavour with most makers.

Can you post a picture of the guns and crew 'in action' as I'd love to see what the look like together, seems you don't have one on your website yet?

Well Done,

John

I'm blown away, just an incredible piece.

Congratulations to First Legion on yet another Napoleonic first. While you may be making FL versions of a lot of things that have already been done before in terms of WWII, when it comes to Napoleonics and a few other lines your years ahead of the game. WOW what a beautiful piece :salute::

I have to second Gebhard on this one. The figures are extremely well done, but the guns are incredible! A must have.

Very nice figures, really well done. Now what I would like to see is a limber(or caisson) and a horse team to go with these.

I'm with ya, that would be an incredible offering and I really hope they will do one at some point down the road. I'm guessing the cost would be pretty high pushing a grand or so, it would be beautiful for sure who knows maybe just maybe
