This is a bust I just finished painting in preparation for MFCA in a couple weeks. LIke the prior IKE bust, I find it adds more eye interest by posing a few K&C figures as support pieces to the display.

The base as a side note is a shade for a bulb from an old victorian lamp that I found in a yard sale for $1. Just cleaned it up, sprayed it Gold, added a button from the fabric store and walla....a proper pedistal (sp) for the Old Boy to look down on his K&C army.

Magnifique! You really captured the expression, and the whole thing would make the Empereur proud. The base looks great, although the fleur-de-lis is a tab bit too Royalist for my tastes{sm4}.

Important Post Script:
Not to count rivets, though I guess that's what this is, the eagle medal to the right of the Legion of Honor is actually silver coloured (or more accurately, diamond). Here is a link to a portrait:

It amazes me Walt how you find something in a yard sale for a buck or two and turn it into a piece of art.I have a cousin that has a knack for that also.Beautiful piece.

Sandor.....Congrat's, you caught the "Royalist" twist. I like to add some odd ball feature that may not be too obvious....In this case, The Emperor sitting comfortably on a Royalist throne. Not quite as wimsical as the Zit I put on a bust of Lafayette, but certainly adds to the creativeness of making your own pieces.

OH............just saw your note on the medal.....good grief you called that one. Great find...This piece goes back on the bench tommorrow for a correction. It takes a village...feedback most appreicated.

That is a great one! I love the zit{sm3}! I hope my comment wasn't too nitpicky, but after a recent visit to the Museum of the Legion of Honor, medals are fersh in my brain:cool:.
Vale,
Sandor
