I was disappointed and confused by the latest "Napoleon in Egypt" releases.
The French Demi-Brigade flag bearer, while a wonderful figure, does not fit in with the general early campaign releases.
Will K&C produce the later campaign uniforms in the future?
The Mamelukes are also very nice figures but saw action in French service in Europe.
Why wouldn't K&C produce Mamelukes to oppose the French invaders in Egypt?
The series, which essentially covers the exploratory mission of the campaign, is colorful and creative. I do think, however, that it is time
for some action poses...............three or four charging Mamelukes and a half dozen French infantry posed to repel them would be well
received.
K&C currently has a monopoly on this campaign (in matte style) and should take advantage of this position before some other maker
(FL) releases action poses. By the number of releases I assume this is a popular series but it needs to be re-invigorated with battle ready
figures.
Just my humble opinion....

I agree....There are more and more standing, watching around figures , and I also would find normal to see an action fighting scene, but I guess KC will never do this as they only focus on immobile figures represented in old paintings. But now they start to become repetitive....
I also agree about the mameluk guard created much later..And also the dromedar corp was created later, for the attack of Syria.

I hope this thread will perhaps be expanded/used by K&C NapE collectors, to share & discuss, in which direction we hope this beautiful range might eventually take.

Whilst I myself would be partial to "fighting" poses ... it might be equally interesting if this range continues along its "peaceful" path. Figures of the military personalities, such as the onelegged Gen Caffarelli, Alexandre Dumas and other scientific members of the expedition would be equally attractive to fans.

K&C may also choose to depict the local population, chieftains and warriors in all its colourful splendour in peaceful or confrontational interactions. There must have been as many "parleys", trade and/or negotiations between the French and the local tribes, as there were battles.

What would other collectors wish to see ? ... views appreciated.

I think that some marching French would go well with the "peaceful" figures and could also be used with the local population and attacking Mamelukes.
Personality figures are always welcome but I think this series is getting a little stale. We already have plenty of "standing around" and "exploring" figures....time for a fight!

Hi Guys,

One of the reasons we developed this particular series was to explore other areas and aspects of the Napoleonic era that did not necessarily have to be “battlefield” and require large multiples of fighting figures.

I’m happy to say that most of the collectors of this series seem to agree. That being said…we will down-the-line introduce some fighting poses into the range…and I’m looking forward to doing them!

As for utilizing poses and scenes from paintings of the period…I plead guilty to the charge…they make excellent reference points and in my opinion are far from being repetitive…but hey what do I know except…you’ll never please all of the people all of the time!

Best wishes and happy collecting.

Unearthing the Rosetta Stone would make a nice dio. Perhaps one of the most significant finds of the period and a biggie for Napoleon.

Thanks Andy that is great news.....by the way I am pleased most of the time but sometimes I can be "more pleased"! I said from the initial release that this is a great series......colorful, creative and unique. I appreciate a mix of "off battlefield" and "in battle" poses. Since no other maker of matte style does this campaign I thought it would be to K&C's benefit to expand into action poses. Again thanks for listening.
