Having come across the special edition KCS010 Napoleonic Chasseur on the forum today in the For Sale column was something I had not seen before. So this all prompted a question on the other special edition Napoleonic figures that have come out over the years past.

Does anyone have background information regarding the Napoleonic Experimental Series of figures (KCA067-KCS076) that K&C put out some years back? I believe it was K&C testing the waters for new figure ideas or so I had heard but
what was the run on each of these figures? I have the British General (KCS067) & I don't see many even among the forum's collections. How rare are these figures today? Are their production numbers more or less than the Limited Edition
Empress' Dragoons (set at 350 figures w/ numbered certificates?)

Thanks for any information anyone can provide.

Glenn,

this is the listing on the ToySoldiersUSA website:

KCS067 British General
KCS068 Chasseur a Cheval Young Guard
KCS069 Chasseur a Cheval (1)
KCS070 Chasseur a Cheval (2)
KCS071 Chasseur a Cheval on Campaign
KCS072 Chasseur a Cheval Officer in Dress Uniform
KCS073 Dragoon Elite Company
KCS074 Vistula Lancer
KCS075 4th Dragoons
KCS076 Chasseur a Cheval Guard

and some of them look just like some of the figures that K&C manufactured for the Del Prado Napoleonic Cavalry series, maybe it was a sample set for that maker?

As far as that KS010 figure you mentioned, I had a look at the image, and I'd say its the Del Prado Dutch Carabinier 1815 by the look of him!

Hope that helps,

John

Thanks, John, I hadn't thought of the Del Prado connection. Do you or anyone else know what kind of production numbers were made on these figures?

I especially like the Chasseur a Cheval Officer in Dress Uniform (KCS072). And I seem to remember the Vistula Lancer being very popular after the figure came out. Many wanted an expanded production run on this figure's unit which may
have morphed into what became the Dutch Lancer line, I think.

I believe the Experimental Set figures from K&C are some of the BEST NAPOLEONIC CALVARY figures to date !

The detail on those figures are impressive and all of them together look great !

I wish Andy would make those Polish Lancers - they would be a welcomed addition to the collection !! ^&grin

I second that! The Vistula lancer looks awesome!
