Andy, I was looking on line and found some pictures of field hospital scenes and wounded on stretchers. I thought this would be excellent for the Napoleonic stuff. It would look great on its own or with the farm house. What are your thoughts it would mix things up a bit. I know the Napoleonics have just the one set with a captured British Officer and I just love it!!!!!!

Here they are if you guys want a look: (just click on America Civil War tab scroll down towards the bottom and choose more info for each one to get a closer look at the hospital scenes)

Dear Wellington,

Excellent suggestion on the above topic…I’ll seriously consider putting this one forward at our next creative “brain storming” session.

Thanks again, best wishes and…happy collecting!

Thanks Andy, if we are successful...I will be the first in line to purchase them!!

Cheers
Wellington....:)

A Napoleonic hospital scene has lots of great possibilities. It would be nice if you could also make an add-on figure of Napoleon’s surgeon, Baron Jean Larrey.

I would be second in line to purchase them.

How about a 3 figure set of a wounded soldier being carried on a musket by the 2 other figures if you know what i mean? this is the way most wounded men were carried at that time 2 soldiers would hold the musket like a chair and the wounded figure would put his arms around the two men also how about some brunswickers they look cool with there black uniforms and skull and crossbones on there shakos and had alot of service in the penisular war they were the ones who ate the pet dog of the 95 riffles (NAMED RIFFLES) in that war they loved eating dogs maybe for laughs you could have one chasing a dog!

Wow....wild imagination.the Brunswickers are a good idea!!!

Cheers
There will be no eating of dogs in my army....;)

you,ve got me thinking about all the different figures you could make there are so many other troops just in the penisular war alone. Every body always does the british or french thats getting old. i think more people would get into the napoleonics if they how munch more there is to explore. no ones realy done spanish guerrillas or spanish troops, portugeese or any of the forgien troops napoleon had fight for him in the penisularwestphalia/saxe nassau berg naples baden italy confederation of the rhine ect.ect. there is so munch to choose from but always the same figures. how about figures doing things they did ? maybe a british sergeant with his pike held out across the backs of the soldiers in line or square to keep them in line or french soldier forageing with rabbits or chickens on them or carrying away looted goods! some enginiers in trench armor.some mamaluke cavalry. I could go on all day i love your napoleonic figures and i,m looking forward to what ever you do as i,m sure it,ll be great but if you get stuck for ideas i could talk your ears off!

I think all those ideas are great!!!! I have to admit I want to see all the all the British and french first but it is exciting to know that all of what you said is true there will be endless ideas for this era which is good to know because it confirms that I have chosen the right era...there is soooo many countries uniforms and ideas..the men running after chickens is neat...what about:

Tents, camp fires, men cooking meals and eating...smoking pipes..etc The WW2 stuff is at that stage but I wouls say our era will soon be there...I can't wait...also maybe black smiths, men fixing uniforms..maybe sewing on a button..also fixing shoes...etc

I suddenly feel very poor.....

Hey guys,

Back in 1995, among the last of King & Country's glossy napoleonic releases, was a black Brunswicker Hussar with the skull and crossbones insignia. It was one of my favorites from those toyish, but still very nicely done, glossy Napoleonics.

Andy also did a glossy French standing Cuirassier smoking a pipe, another of your ideas. I guess this Neilson guy is pretty on the ball.

Of course, Andy's present superior sculpting and matt production would make some new Brunswickers something truly special. I was pretty impressed with his Kings German Legion figures at the OTSN.

Regards,

Louis

I hope andy gets to read these new ideas and takes at least a few to the drawing board. I like the camp idea! it would go right along with the hospital. a behind the lines thing and the farm house could be a great building point for a dioroma on these lines. louis gave me another great idea with the cuirassier, they would be great to fight the british highlanders already out then guys with deep pockets do do a real nice waterloo british square with the cuirassiers attacking! also how about a few dragoons on foot as the dragoons were realy mounted infantry that fought on foot anyway. after the russain defeat most dragoons became foot infantry do to lack of horses! I think after the penisular war stuff he should go to the wars of liberation 1813-14 in my opinion the first world war! All of europe was involved and you could then have the figures from all different countries and guys could use them as any war close to that period and not be stuck to just one war they could be used for many and you could switch gears easier than with the pinsular.one more figure idea how about a figure with an eye patch! and you should do a figure of marshall massena the only marshall that had a real good record in the penisular also know as the man how almost beat wellington.I also have a good idea for a new del prado line! hero of the napoleonic wars. The books could come with good war stories and tales, the kind of tales they told thier grand kids or better yet the kind they told thier mates after a few bottles of wine! there are lots of these stories from old letters and books. I,ve read stories about how mean the horses could get in battle, one bit the nose and face off of a soldier who stuck it with a bayonet. I,ve saw pictures of cuirassier breast plates with cannon ball holes threw both sides. Make the books with some real gory war stories and tales of the men from ther side of the story not some snotty generals! I think these books would sell alot if you get enough good gory war stories!
