Are there any companies that make injection molded plastic soldiers besides the blackcat Russians?

Quite a few. Some of the better known makes include:

A Call to Arms
Armies in Plastic
Italeri
HAT
CTS (Classic Toy Soldiers) carry reissues of the Airfix range

I'm sure there's others.

I meant more along the lines of the plastic conte uses with very fine detail. I have most of the ones you metioned.

In that case, I can't think of any others that match Conte's standard of sculpting I'm afraid.

How about these? Conte mexican figures converted to dutch Napoleonics. Any good at conversions? Try making your own. I posted a thread somewhere on this forum on how I went about doing these conversions and also posted a thread on how to convert plastic figures in general.

Thanks for the idea fishead. I think I can handle minor conversions. Do you know what you would need to do to make them cold stream guards?

That my might be a tough one turning Alamo Mexicans into Coldstream Guards ?
Im busting for some decent Guards myself ..
Italeri did a good set in 1/72 scale last year.. so lets hope they do the same set in 54mm

The italeri British riflemen are pretty nice and I'm saving up for some. The problem is all of them have shakos except for the two kneeling poses. They should have a set of each different headgear.

This is a very simple conversion, just chop and swop the heads out! Heres an example of what I mean. These figures had the heads swoped out so I have each pose with both the cap and the shako. I never got around to finnishing painting these up but, you,ll get the idea of what I mean.
These heads from the Italeri 95th were also used for the above mexican conversions but I had to modify the shakos a bit as you can see in the photos of the unpainted figures.
I don,t see the conte mexicans being a good base figure british gaurds figures but if your real good with two part putty and have a lot of free time it could be done. I once made a british black watch highlander from a marx plastic viking(see second photo).
Airfix makes plastic british guards and timpo and a call to arms make plastic british figures also.
Its a good idea to get a good reference photo book for uniform detail like an osprey book to help with uniform detail when converting figures.

I love osprey books and have about 100 from all their different series. Your conversions are nice and I think im going to get Call to Arms British light infantry. Their foot guards are nicely sculpted butmost of them are in bad poses.

I think the light infantry are some of the best figures they,ve done! And they are a bit bigger then the rest of thier figures also. Most of there figures are to small. Too bad they only do 4 poses per box???:mad:
The sculpter who did these has a web site and has pictures of highlanders and 95th riffles figures that I believe were sculpted for A call to arms also but they never saw the light of day????
I,ll post a link to the pictures if I come across the site again. I believe his name is Bill Farmer?

I do agree about the light infantry being the best CTA soldiers. I don't like the foot guards poses.

Hi
Bill Farmer has sculpted loads of figures since the 1970's for Matchbox, Accurate then Imex and ACTA.

I have tried to access his site, but there are no pages showing now (like this for several months now)

The 95th Rifles and Highlanders 1815 that he sculpted were superb and its a real waste if they are never put into production, but this has happened before - he sculpted masters for Zulus and 24th Foot for Accurate years ago and they too never went into production.

His figures are full of action and proper 54mm in scale - some in the hobby complain that his anatomy on the figures isnt always correct and that the equiment on the figures is slung wrong etc...
I like his figures as they are not undersized and you can convert them all easily
