Napoléon and one later to be famous British officer lived in the same house in France before they first met years later. Who was this officer and where was this house?

Was it Władysław Franciszek Jabłonowski? (The house would have been a barracks at Brienne....)

Wellington born in Dublin
Study in Eton, then Brussels, then " Art of Cavalry" in Angers

Nope, wrong Irish native. Also Wellington never met Napoleon face to face (just on the battle field with a bunch of guys shooting between them :wink2:)

This is a hard one. The closest I have been able to find is William Beresford, but I doubt he is the one.

Hudson Lowe certainly met Napoleon.... Perhaps he stayed in the same house as the man when he was traveling through Corsica in the 1790s or when he took part in Tuolon.

Ah, ah! This is the correct answer Sandor. As an interesting twist of history, apparently Hudson Lowe when based in Corsica between 1793 and 1796 stayed at the Casa Buonaparte which is the ancestral home of Napoléon. As we know he took "good care" of Napoléon a few years later on St Helena!

I must say, this is one of the harder ones you have posted (I think the hardest was the Algeria one). I do enjoy these- it forces me to look into some really interesting things.
Rgds,
Sandor

Thanks for the kudos Sandor! I am glad you enjoy these. I have a lot of fun finding them too :wink2: !
