What saved Napoléon's life during the plot of "Rue Saint-Nicaise" in 1800? Hint: it is something that you are not supposed to do...

Its lunchtime on Thursday here 'down under, so I've got time to do some searching and I find that :

The incident was an attempted assasination of Bonaparte

Napoleon's driver of his carriage was drunk, therefore drunken driving is the answer.

He was going too fast, so when the fuse was lit on the explosive device, it exploded after his carriage passed the place of detination.

Correct answer John! The driver's DUI saved Napoléon's life (probably thanks to a good bottle of French wine!:wink2:)
