How many marshals Napoléon had under his command? Interestingly enough one was not a French citizen, who was he?

Not sure on the number of marshalls but I think the answer to your other question was the Pole Prince Poniatowski?

I'd suggest that there were 26 Marshals on the details I have.

At first I thought the obvious one would be Jacque MacDonald
(Not of the Golden Arches fame :)) having a good Scottish name,

but, I'll suggest its the Pole Josef Poniatowski.

I think MacDonald was born in France.

Correct answers guys!

26 marshalls and the one who was not French was indeed Prince Joseph Poniatowski, a Pole who died at the battle of Leipzig when crossing the river Elster. He had just got his baton of marshal at the beginning of the battle...Macdonald was born in France but his father was a Scot...
