While Switzerland proclaimed its neutrality in 1813, the latter was officially recognized in 1815 (9 days before Waterloo) at the Congress of Vienna (held between Sept 1814 and June 1815) which gathered the states which defeated Napoléon as well as other European states including the Kingdom of France (represented by Talleyrand.)
