Hi All,

I have just finished reading a pair of books on the Peninsular War. They are Rifles by Mark Urban and The Peninsular War by Charles Esdaile. Both are exceptionally detailed with thorough end notes and a detailed list of sources. I have a pretty good collection of 95th Rifles Soldiers and it is really great to read about the real men who made this unit such a force to be reckoned with. In the Peninsular War by Esdaile there is a lot of detailed information which should be very useful to the other Napoleonic Collectors out there. The other thing about them is they are still in print so go out a find them. Here are the ISBNs:

Wellington: Hamilton books had two good uniform plate books on sale. Wellington's Infantry and Napoleon's Elite Cavalry. Reasonable price- the Cavalry book I paid about $60- a few years ago now arond 15.00. I don't know if they still got them in stock but I got infantry book two weeks ago John

There are lots of great uniform books out there but if i had to sugest a few for you i,d say the funkin books isbn 0706314069 arms and uniforms of the napoleonic wars part 1 and 2 are a great place to start. They have lots of color plates of many of the napoleonic nations involved. The blandford color series has some really great uniform books also. They have a uniforms of penisular war book,a waterloo book, a russain 1812 book and a couple of others and osprey has tons of books on napoleonic uniforms. My top pick would be the funkin books if you can find them. Look around ebay and amazon but shop around for the best price because some guys try to get crazy prices for these books. I found book #1 on amazon for $5.00 so shop around. I think a fair price would be between $20-$40 based on condition.
