An ebay seller who I've been talking to is selling off his late father's collection and has asked if we can identify what's in the photo. He said that "My father bought many of them in Paris between '76 and '79 (the paper label). I bought more for him when I went to Paris as a foreign exchange student in 1980. The labels had been "upgraded" to silver foil. There are no markings except for the label. They are heavy and were advertised as being lead. They were available in French hobby shops."

Thanks in advance.

It kills me that I don't know who made these. The worst part is I have seen them before!!! I had a chance to buy a dozen of them in Paris, and decided to save my money for Mignots. I kinda regret that decision now. I have looked through all my books including La Folie des Petits Soldats to no avail. A quick browse of the leading French toy soldier shop's websites also yielded unsatisfactory results. I will keep looking however.

Could you post a link to the auctions? Or if they are not on ebay, put me in contact with the seller?

Cheers!

Cole,

I'm sending you a pm. I don't think he's posted these on ebay yet and he says he has tons of Napoleonics.

Interesting. I had not thought about Alymer, my head was stuck on French makers. It could be. I own a few Alymers, but their style changed over time. Anyone more familiar with the brand?

Cheers!

Cole
