Messing around with a few of my K&C figures with the buildings I made today. There are a few Hachette and del prado mixed in there also.

What Mr Capitolron said! :)

A beautiful piece of work and I especially like the small detail of the lanterns and front door on the main house and the abandoned dresser!

I also like the selection of carts and wagons that you have used, that all add to the authenticity of an impressive diorama!

Outstanding! Very good! :) Where did you get those bales of hay on the wagons?

Those are made from a craft broom I used to thatch the roofs. I love that stuff, you can make all kinds of great stuff from one of those brooms! I stick it into small pieces of foam to make grass (See my thread how to make grass clumps).

I also cut up the scraps to make hay scatter like what you see on the bottom of the wagon, I made a hay stack and I,ve seen guys make trees with this stuff also.
I picked mine up at A.C.Moore craft store for $0.69 a broom, hows that for cheap.
That ground cover I use for spreading around and covering the bases of the figures is another great find of mine also! Its Coconut fiber used as lizard bedding in pet stores and you get a HUGE bag for cheap money. I just get one of those grass matts laid down and spread a little here and there around the diorama and I think it gives it a much more realistic look and helps to hide the bases of the figures. When your done you just shake the stuff of the grass mat back into a box to be used again on the next dio.

Great pictures and set up Tim. I really enjoyed what you did with these. Coconut fiber lizard bedding eh; that is a good tip. I hope I can find some.

Heres a link for you! You can also buy this stuff cheaper compressed also but you,ll have to add water to uncompress it and then let it dry back out. Thats how I got mine. Its kind of a pain like that, I had to put it in a 5 gal bucket with water to get it to break back up and it stood wet for awhile. I left it in front of my dehumidiifer and it dried out real good but it took a couple of days.
Your better off getting the uncompressed stuff for another buck or two. You still get a ton of the stuff for real cheap money.

Heres a link for the compressed version!
