In early January 2017 I purchased from Treefrog Treasures a pond made by J.G. Miniatures (John Gittins of London, England) for my Napoleonic Army diorama on an about 39 inch across round table. The pond has higher rocks around the pond than a J.G. Minautures pond I got some years back and is now on display with my diorama of a 1914 German Army Infantry marching into France. The Pond is at about 12 inches square. Please see 5 photos below.

In my initial Posting of the "Napoleon's Pond" Thread I forgot to note that besides the Gittins pond all the figures, tent and equipment were made by King & Country (K&C). Also, when I first started my diorama on Napoleon's Army I had about 12 or perhaps less of the marching infantry figures with muskets. In late 2010 when K&C announced that there was to be a big price increase on 1/1/2011 I decided to increase my total number of French infantrymen to two dozen (24) figures at $21.00 USD per figure which was a big bargain relative to the big price increase coming in 2011. Given current K&C prices the $21.00 amount per figure is now a real bargain for sure!

Always pleasing to see blokes go to the trouble to cover figures bases when they create a scene.....really makes the world of difference. :salute::

That's a nicer JG pond than the one I have. Mine is similar, but my rock surrounds do not look as realistic as yours. The all over effect for this French scene is very creative. Robin.

Don't ya just hate it when someone else's pond is nicer than yours!..........^&grin I like this pond.

Very nice diorama. I am a big fan of invisible bases . You did a good job here. I like the column of marching soldiers
Must be a very damp area. Two of Napoleon's officers have moss growing on their uniform.
guy:)

Guy:

Thanks for your two comments. I always try to cover bases or stands of figures when hobby store purchased grass, ground, snow, etc. is being used as it is much more realistic looking in photos and in person. When I had to move Napoleon's HQ set to allow for placing Gittins pond on the diorama I had to move some the diorama material and alas some "grass" got on the the shoulders of two HQ officers that you noticed. You must have great eyes! I shall indeed remove the unwanted grass from the two HQ officers in question shortly. Thanks again for your comments.

Gary,

Love this diorama. The massed marching French soldiers, Napoleon's tent and commanders, it all works very well. Nice and colorful too. Thanks for posting.
