I've seen 4 new movies in the last 4 weeks, and during the showings of the trailers, a National Guard trailer is included. It is probably the best trailer and sound track that I've seen. The first time I saw it, the hairs on the back of my neck stood and I cried. The next time I saw it, I stood up and clapped at the end much to the chagrin of my wife and friends. The last movie, as I stood and clapped, other people stood and clapped. As it ended, we all cried out our individual Military services to each other. Quite a rush.....

Scott, That was 1st rate.Thank you for the link. I've never seen one like that.
Very positive .
I haven't been to a movie in some time, though Avatar is on my list.If that's the kind of trailer I can expect it's simply a huge plus.

Too bad it was wasted on me at 57 and my daughter with a heart problem. maybe my son when he finishes college. My Grandfather was in the Massachusetts National Guard on the Mexican Border in 1916, WW I, and my father in WW II. Both went to Europe, so being in the Guard isn't "safe."

Wow! that was a great video. Very moving.

I'm in Australia and I was also impressed by the video (apart from the bit where the Brits are the bad guys !!!:D:D:D).

I used to "play" the Brits during our Bicentennial. We never felt like "bad guys."

Scott, its mainly Hollywood thinks we are all criminals and scoundrels(what the heck,a lot of us are!:D)mind you they also think we all wear bowler hats and go to work on London Buses speaking like the Queen,so go figure!:D

I was just noting that in the American War of Independence the enemy of the USA were the British. However we are good mates now:D:D.
I am still recovering from the scene in The Patriot where the British "bad guy" locks up and burns the church with the people inside. I think he was voted baddest baddy in some poll of movies. Enough to make you melt Toy Soldiers.
Regards
Brett
Having said that been I have been enjoying the series about John Adams.

Ah the sterotype issue again, LOL. Now we are we going to return to the notion that (or even Hollywood intends) we judge countries by the movie roles of single individuals again are we?:) Remember Platoon and Casualties of War for example? Yes he was a bad guy, yes he was English, so what.;) I think I will have to watch the Patriot again tonight now.:D:D

Thanks for sharing this.

Outstanding trailer that seems serve two purposes well; what the US National Guard does and recruit.

This is possibly the best recruiting video I have ever seen among all US services branches and I'm very partial to the USMC.

Note that in The Patriot the British regulars weren't the "baddest guys" but the Tories under that Banastre Tarlton clone. (Great villain BTW)

At a local battle in Groton, Ct, it was the Loyalists that abused the wounded.

Of course we know that the church burning never happen in the War but something like it happened during the Indian Wars in the 1600s in New England.

My neighbor is from Wales. His little American born daughter laughs at his accent. "My daddy says.to-maaaaah-toe."

My favorite "new" American to listen to is Christopher Hitchens.

The older Sword and Sorcery ones were kind of immature but the new one with the Marine drill team across American is beautiful.

Yes, and in that case my stereotypes will be Bromhead and Chard as played by Caine and Baker in Zulu.

Any other suggestions ? I guess for the USA you could probably choose Hanks in Saving Private Ryan or Winters in Band of Brothers.

Actually I simply reject the notion but if you must have sterotypes it is better to chose heros than villians.;):D
