An article in the Life & Style section of today's WSJ discussed this museum in Austin Tx. For some reason I was not aware of its existence. The author gives it a very favorable review. Too bad its so out of the way (texas hill country).

Some interesting points/facts:
- There is a newly remodeled George HW Bush Gallery.
- When you enter you receive a 48 hour time stamp.
- The US lost 52 subs in WWII -- 48 in the Pacific
- Iwo Jima was the only island conflict where the US had more casualties than Japan
- Total civilian deaths: Allies: 22.6 Million; Japan: 580,000

I've been three times including once since the HW Bush Gallery opened up. It's a must see and worth the drive time (approx. 1 hr.) north of San Antonio. BTW, take your wife because the town itself is cool with lots of little shops and restuarants.
