Mike, with all of your "displayed" talent, you should be able to build that item with your eyes closed …
A few sticks from the yard, bit of string and a few touches of paint or stain.

Of course it wouldn't be a "Jenkins" BUT it would be a "Miller" and possibly more valuable.

Larry...I sold my blockhouse and all my straight wall and corner sections to a really nice guy with an APO military address...he did not get my gate section...and he contacted me lamenting about it and I suggested Matt's (Hobby Bunker's) recast versions...but he doesn't want that...he want's a genuine JJD piece...so...I don't think he would be happy at all with a "Mike Miller" piece...he's just such a nice guy...plus serving our country...I just want to help him find what he wants...if anyone responds...you can deal directly with him...I will provide contact info on him...or deal directly with me...whatever makes it easier for you...

Yup, I hear your words, Sir, and can say that I'm a (bit of) a purist myself.

I see all the fantastic RE-PAINTS done by the very talented artists on this site/Forum and consider having some done myself .. but can't go through with it.
Ya' kinda' a (coward <-> purist) in that respect, I guess.

Sometimes, when a piece is <SOLD OUT> there is little option that to build one yourself, like I did with all the JJD RSF Indian huts. I was happy with the way they turned out … but still not John's work. Funny, a few weeks later I found TWO JJD's at great prices …

Go figure? :tongue:

yea...I can respect that...nobody really wants a knock Gucci bag or Rolex watch...if you want the genuine article...then you want the genuine article...some people won't settle for anything other than the "Real McCoy"...when I explained to him that Matt's reproductions were taken from JJD's molds...he didn't balk...he wants the original gate...it will probably cost him 3 times the price...he's a really nice guy and i'm hoping to help him find this piece...so yea...if you hear something...call me...
