Need help finding some good websites dealing with the Battle of Stalingrad.
Photo's, maps, history of the battle. Units invovled.
Any recomendations on sites.
Also trying to find the titles of any good books one might recommend on the Battle that has a good assortment of Photo's,maps and text.
I'm putting together a large tabletop diorama and need some help with the above. Thanks in advance for any help or guidence.:)

Can't go wrong with Osprey- I am sure they did a Stalingrad book in their campaign series. You can check their website as well.

Hi Eric!
Here is a website that might be useful:
http://www.stalingrad-info.com/

Good luck comrade! ;)

An authority on the Russian Front is John Erikson, who has at least one book on the battle as well as other general ones. Anthony Beevor has a one in paperback that should be available at your local book store. Any good library should have these as well as others. Some good movies on the epic battle also are out. For diorama building, the Osprey is excellent. General histories of the Russo-German war would also have good summaries of the battle.

Eric,
I'd suggest viewing a copy of Enemy at the Gates or Stalingrad (the 1992 German version) as there are some terrific scenes in both movies that you can replicate in 54mm. Strangely enough, Osprey has not done a Stalingrad Campaign book yet, as if they did, would be a brilliant book to have.

Another suggestion is to get your hands on a copy of the PC game Close Combat, the Eastern Front as there are some terrific Stalingrad scenarios you can duplicate from that game.

Can you share a little as to the general size and layout of the diorama?

Regards,
George
