I believe the Horse Teams/riders/towed items/cannon are all Lucotte but please correct me if I'm wrong. The ammo box(?) opens and the cannon still has a working spring mechanism for firing tiny cannonballs. Can anyone help me confirm that these are or are not Lucotte and help me with a date. Are these French soldiers? The uniforms are blue with red pant stripes.
The slightly smaller group with the brass instruments I think may be Mignot. I believe these are French soldiers with the blue jackets and red pants and hats. Again, I would like to try and confirm and also figure out about how old they might be. For what it's worth, the figures were found in a chocolate box from J.S. Fry & Sons, Somerdale, Bristol, England. This company was started in the 1700's, began using the name J.S. Fry & Sons in 1822, merged with Cadbury in 1919, and moved the Fry operation to Somerdale in 1923. So it would seem the box they were in is from after 1923. The label and tape on the box appear to be from the 30's - very Deco in appearance. Not sure if that has any bearing on the dating of the figures themselves but thought I would throw it out there.
Thanks in advance for any help or direction this community can give me! I do have many more detailed pics which I can post here or send via email/private message.
The ones I think are Lucotte include 4 teams of 2 horses (3 black, 1 brown) with riders, 2 "buggies", 1 ammo box? that opens, one cannon and two riderless horses (1 brown, 1 white/grey missing a tail and one hoof). The Mignot(?) collection includes one black horse with rider, 4 soldiers with brass instruments, 1 soldier with rifle.
