Need help - tried TAMIYA paints and blend none can match accurately as the original. Fustrating

Could any one advise what paint/brand to use that is spot-on for the below 2 colors I need to touch-up ?

Based on my conversations with the repair person who does mine and is the best in my opinion, he says K & C uses a blend of paints so you have to experiment.

I believe Andy has said that at the HK HQ they use Tamiya.

To be quite honest, rifles are all sorts of different shades. If you use a light brown, there will be a rifle exactly that colour, but I personally mix other colours with it to "scale down" the colour. As long as you do all the main parts of the rifle furniture, it will look as produced. The green webbing is a different matter, you may have to spend some time mixing small quantities to get it somewhere close, remember to use the same colour with a touch of black for shaded areas.

Bit difficult without seeing the figures in the flesh, but from the photo you've put up, the 2 colours would seem to be pretty close to:
Vallejo Model Colour Green Grey (no 971), and
Vallejo Model Colour Beige Brown (no 70875)
May not be exact, but look very similar.

If only KnC have a paint chart.

I brought the figures to the TAMIYA store compare no colors matched spot on though.

Thanks for the head-up. Will experiment and fix then take some photos to show. {sm4}

I do lots of repairs on K&C figures, and I find that you can't match the paint from a stock brand.

I use HUMBROL, so I mix and match to the best shade I can do.

One tip is to paint a bigger area than whats required, and so you don't see the join.

Also for paint chips, rub or file down the edge of the chip so you get a smooth surface.

Used TAMIYA NATO brown, + TAMIYA Flat Yellow + WHITE + GLOSS... simply just can't get spot-on for the Rifle brown color (reparing the part near the bolt as paint chipped when rifle was bent).

Will try and mix with the Vallejo colors receommended this weekend....

I find Vallejo works very well. But, John is right mixing is the word. The light brown is a good place to start for the rifles though.

The GREEN I had somewhat got very close (the small little chipped on the figure's left ammo pouch - not noticeable in the actual figure)

Use mixture of TAMIYA FLAT BLUE, FLAT YELLOW, FLAT WHITE and with a little FLAT RED

For this rifle, I used DALER-ROWNEY

a) BURNT SIENNA (221)
b) BURNT UMBER (223)
c) CADMIUM ORANGE (619)
d) TITANTIUM WHITE (009)

and able to get SPOT ON ! But this repainted part become GLOSS instead

Will TAIMAY MATT VARNISH help to tune it back to semi-gloss/matt ?

http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/76616varnish/index.htm

Or what matt varnish should I use ?

Any advise will be much apporeciated
