Ever since I was a little kid reading WW2 books I've always been intrigued by this photo. Shot somewhere on the Eastern Front 1942. The Soldier on the left is Rudi Brasche, a highly decorated soldier who survived the war. Always wondered what happened to the other three soldiers in the picture. Any ideas on where to find some info on this picture?

You may try to get that book:

There are some good accounts of firefights involving Feldwebel Rudi Brasche in the following book.

Infantry Aces: The German Soldier In Combat In WW2 (2005); (Stackpole Military History Series) by Franz Kurowski.

It's available in English as a paperback - both new and used - from a well known Internet bookseller.

Rudi Brasche served in the "Infanterie Regiment 93 ( motorized)
The picture you show was taken in Wschodnim in 1943

Also try ebay: there is a copy of "Der Landser- Rudi Brasche " magazine available. The magazine number is: Der Landser n°1051. Not too expensive !!!
