New 24th (1 Viewer)

Thanks for sharing, interesting, but could be a long wait given past performance {eek3}. Of course they are all club exclusives as well. Robin.

As as we can buy also the Sgt major doing the role call, the club situation is a joke, all items should be on sale as normal, club is a over priced

Just check, not surprised all club figures, ridiculous, why would I pay $79 to Join and the figure is $39, and put good items as club figures and mainstream nothing special same old poses

I agree, think of photos from the William Britains website the same as you would a photograph of Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster. THeres a picture but it doe not mean it exists or will be found in the close future. Where as there are pictures of the new 24th on the T Gunn website, from yesterday, and quess what! Strangely enough you can buy them, but not for long i bet, as they will dissappear soon, all to good homes.

Don't complain about W Britains on the Forum, a few of Ken's friends get quite upset. On the forum complaining about W Britains is equal to telling a new Mother/Father their baby is ulgy.

There has been a few non-positive posts on this thread, if history is anything to go by i expect the deflection and misdirection posts to be coming in to change/divert the thread or someone will say something political to get it taken down, way it goes normally.

That is a lot of work to go through to create something that won't exist though.

I don't think it is the complaining so much as the repetition, same old, same old and probably from people who don't have a dog in the fight! Some people just like to moan.

Not trying to Knock WB, have been collecting for years and continue to do so, more so about the club side of things, why charge a fee, why not have it like TG free no fee and then buy figures as a member.

Have you emailed them and asked them? They don't really participate on the forum any more so your questions are falling on deaf ears.

I have they believe the way it is is what members prefer, odd considering how many here prefer the other way. The club figures at times are fabulous, would be easier as standard purchase, as the latest Zulu war 24th foot unique and different are all club.

Equally although not all on this forum many collectors support the membership system as it is , with some reservations admittedly

Britains are and have always been the main stay of keeping toy soldier collecting alive, they are and have always been a commercial company and as such probably see profit in what they do, including their club policy and good for them.
Although they may not participate in the forum too often, a phone call to them would always be met with courtesy and helpful information.
Ken, Erika, Ted and Doug are great guys, very knowledgeable, friendly and love customer feedback.
Name another company who has served the toy soldier community longer?
Without prejudice.
Norman

Re communication with Britain's I made an enquiry with them at the end of Feb. Having read the negative comments was slightly apprehensive about getting a response. No need to worry, a speedy and clear answer came in from Ted. On the other hand no answer was received from a British dealership made at approximately the same time.

If there is a key point it is ---> cut out the middle man in communication. Distance in comms. is often not measured in miles/km but the number of people the info. or message has to pass through.

Take care and stay safe.

Hi Gents

Norman and Black Bob make some great points that I want to confirm. This day and age if you have a question just email or call the folks at WB. They are responsive and friendly and will always do their best to answer your questions. As to the club costs it’s worth every penny in my opinion but that’s only for me. You will need to make up your mind and decide if the cost is worth it to you. Is there always going to be figures that I collect only available through the club the short answer is no but when they do have ones I want it’s worth it in spades! Because if you’ve ever missed a set or figure good luck getting it on the secondary market.

Agree 100% well said

Re: New zulu war

I see on W Britains web site that a single random Zulu has been announced 20199
a casualty falling backwards , at first I was glad to see a new release
then I realised like the last batch of Zulu warriors its a re issue the original appearing in the Last shot Royal Artillery 20089
the re issue of Zulus continues to disappoint .

Thanks for the info.

I understand the disappointment and agree as we need new Zulu's but in this case I am pleased

I had to sell the Last shot set due to downsizing, but I liked that figure. I couldn't justify keeping the set for one figure.
Now I can get it so happy days. {sm4}

It would be good if others Zulus are sold single so you could use them with Rork's Drift rather than Isandlwana

Still need new ones though. Plus packs of spears

Rob

20199 is an exclusive set from Sierra Toy Soldier Company. I think it is 20200.

Not a big deal, I think there has only been two re-releases, this one and a Natal Police. You also have to take into account that there are new collectors joining all the time who may not have previous sets nor need them.
