Hi guys,

have you seen that Tradition Garde Suisse that was released last last week?

They are the same figures as the Garde Francaise that came out earlier this year, but are painted with the reverse colours of red coats and blue facings.

The set consists of an officer, sergenat, drummer and guardsmen, all at attention, and when I first saw the French, I checked my uniform resources and notice the Swiss Guards and thought that they would also make a great looking set, and now Tradition has thought the same.

A quick link to them is here http://www.traditionoflondon.com/in...oducts/ShowImage.asp?ID=10838&Typ=Toy&ID2=236

I think that when I send my next order of castings to Tradition, a set or two of these will be in the group, as a fine deatiled paint job will be sure to bring out the features more that the toy paint style on offer.

regards,

John

John,

I'm not a painter, but Tradition is making some great Seven Years War sets. I'm sticking to North America for the time being, so the marching La Reine and Guyenne Regiments and General Wolfe are my next planned acquisitions. (Although I am considering painting after following Jeff's thread on painting Tradition's FIW. Plus, my business partner used to paint figures, so I have an in house tutor .)

:eek:..........:D no seriously, the Tradition castings are full of detail (which is enhanced by using grey undercoat) and makes the painting a lot easier.

Thanks for the heads-up, John! I like that Tradition adds to the much more obscure European theater collection for that time period :D With a little modification, too, they could be painted as some of the other line regiments that the French deployed to Germany.

These figures have an interesting look to them, the style of the sculpt and the pose reminds me of figures by Peipp.

I wish, though, that Tradition would add more Prussians, Austrians and Russians.

And more cavalry, I'd like to see some cavalry in action, as opposed just to the very fine portrait and static pieces they currently have.

Prost!
Brad
