I noticed that some pictures were posted in a Thread about the London Toy Soldier Show yesterday and I saw 3 x 7YW Cavalry figures from Alexanders Toy Soldiers.

I then thought that I'd check the website and YES, Nik now is making quite a range of 7YW figures in glossy finish, and like all his figures, they are also available as casting :)

So far there are Tabs on a side menu to British, French, Artillery, Cavalry and Axis & Allies but some don't yet contain figures.

I can see that he is now selling

Not an era I collect John, but I will say that those Serbian Hussars look spectacular in gloss. That is a very colourful uniform.

I think the ATS Website would benefit from some larger images of the figures.

This is exciting news! ATS includes a good number of Reichsarmee subjects in this catalog, especially Bavarians and Württemberg infantry. Previously, those subjects were available only as formal connoisseur figures or kits, and so, putting together larger units was a problem, or you'd have to convert figures, such as Prins August castings. I wonder how the British figures fit with Tradition or Britians.

Though, they're not available as castings, are they? It's a shame. The Russian hussars could be painted as any of the regiments in the army at the time, besides the Serbskii and and Moldovskii regiments.

Prost!

Brad,

all of Nik's figures are available as castings. He doesn't advertise that on his website, but I only buy castings from him, and paint them myself. I've also been to visit Nik at his workshop in London and seen how he does all this wonderful work, most enlightening.

If you are interested in any of the figures, email him and enquire about the figures and their costing.

As far as scale goes, they are 54mm, and most of his sculpting has been done by our late Forum member, Allan Caton (Trooper) so it will be wonderful to have some of his last figures in a collection.

I was looking again at the images from London, and here is another form ATS with 7YW figures

Looks like there are French Infantry, British Grenadiers and German(?) Grenadiers in the front, Bavarians marching behind, and various cavalry in the rear.

Right at the back it looks like British Light Dragoons.

In this image it looks like French Cuirassiers with a British Dragoon (?) or Lifeguard?

Excellent, thanks for that info!

Regarding their scale, I suspected that they would fit well, for the reason you cite. I think he may have done the Tradition SYW British cavalry, too, though I could be wrong.

This is indeed exciting news, then. Years ago, I made some Bavarians using Prins August molds, but only musketeers, no grenadiers. As I learned more about the uniform details, I wanted to revist the Bavarians, but I never have. Now that there are some available, I look forward to adding them to my collection.

Prost!
Brad
