I picked up a box of AIP's reissue of World War One GIs. The Plastic is more green than the brownish 1997 issue. Most figures are GREAT and of a stiffer plastic. I think I can mix them together with the 1997 issue figures I just got. I don't have the full 1997 set. Too bad the machine gunners are advancing and not firing. I hope to do some conversions in a way that don't need painting. Heads, a few hands, and some torsos. These are to "play" with.

Those new poses do look rather good so with the 2 sets that would give 20 poses?.
The BMC Redoubts lined up together can make a cheap trench system.
Also the 1st set made had a guy wearing a gas mask but i think he was replaced by another pose?

Not too bad. I was tempted to pick up a set and see what they might look like with a bit of detail and some better weapons. I didn't realize that they had changed the WW1 set. Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe it's the picture but some of those rifles look almost segmented like a telescope that's been stretched out too far.

Yeah...they're toys not museum pieces. Some detail on the new series is crisper but the firing poses are awkward compared to the older series. Weapons are probably out of scale for ease of casting and sturdiness.

I agree AIP figures are not museum pieces, but there WW1 line is my favorite.
Sure wish they would expand it further. I have two sets of those old Form Tech WW1 trenches that go very well with these.

I would be great to see some firing machine gunners or artillery. Those units really would complete the WW I story.

BY Request......

First US conversions. I may graft the grenade thrower on a kneeling figure.
