John:

Thanks for your persistence. It surely paid off....yeeehaaa. Been waiting for this Bofors for the longest time.

One small detail that John forgot; this company manufactures pieces in kit form only, ie, you have to build and paint them yourself.

Just a minor detail John forgot to mention, I am sure 99% of you will have no problem assembling and painting kits to K & C or other manufacturers standards.

Oh and John, when you get yours, be sure to keep us posted with pictures as to your finished result, ok; hey, the master model builder that you are, maybe Mountford will use pictures of your finished product on their website, huh?.................

Don't know where you got that information from but you are 100% incorrect. All of Mountford's products are available in both kit and painted versions. They can also be supplied gloss painted should the customer request it. If you care to check their website you will see their painted prices listed. See www.mountfordmodels.com

Some of the sets look quite interesting; different ideas and poses. I don't they could be displayed with other manufacturers' figures. However, they do offer some bold and different ideas.

Will this be painted in Africa and Normandy colors. I plan to get both if you do. Do you accept payment thru Paypal?

Thanks
Arnold

Dear Arnold,

This is absolutely correct - 1/30th scale. The gun will be the 40mm cal Bofors in both the Army and Navy type. It will be available with full travelling carriage and in shipboard fixed turntable versions. We will have it ready for sale in 2 months time and it will be displayed at the King and Country show in December. Do you want me to put you on the list for advice when it is ready?

Best wishes,
Dave Love

This is an enquiry e-mail via http://mountfordmodels.com from:

I have been hearing at the Treefrog Toy Soldier Forum that Mountford will be producing a 1/30 scale 40 mm Bofors Gun. Is this true? 1/30 scale is perfect specially for collectors of King & Country, & Figarti (...please not 1/32 as this will be off scale and too small for collectors of connossieur toy soldiers in 1/30 scale).

If this is true, do you have a time frame of itsrelease?

Thank you
Arnold

Figures are compatible with Tradition, ATS and Little Legion to give you some idea. They are about 1-2 mil shorter than Britains or K&C but do not look too out of place.

Ok then, gee, I guess you really told me then didn't you?

:D OK, George! Put that in your Pipe and blow it out!:p:D

Good for you John, you were actually right about this, which reminds me of an old saying "A blind squirrel finds an acorn every once and awhile."

And please, be sure to post pictures once you buy your set or sets since you've been asking for this piece since Christ was in a crib.

And be sure to include pictures of the Collectors Showcase Italian armored car, the Honour Bound Italian figures and all the other toy soldiers you've bought recently...........
