Good Afternoon,

From the Dispatch Post: "Finally after all the requests for new 44th Regiment British Line Infantry, I have decided to re-visit the Monongahela collection. There will be 6 new sets of British Line Infantry, released over the next 6 months as general releases. For those interested in a sneak preview, the prototypes of most of the figures will be on display at the London Show on Saturday March 27th."

Time to speculate:

Sets

(1) Firing --- Standing and Kneeling (Advertized Released)
(2) Loading --- 1 Loading while Kneeling and 1 somewhat stooped-over while Loading (Saw a Photo)

Guess
(3) Officer and Drummer ----- Drummer is more of a guess than the Officer.
(4) Sergeant and Corporal
(5) Wounded

(6) Wide Open Here --- Bayonet, more Wounded, Marching, Running Away, Huddled?

Any Ideas or does someone know more about the future releases?

March 27th seems so far away!!

I don't know the answers about the BMs, but wonder why John has never done the 48th? We could also use a few more french releases.

The 48th had buff colored facings --- not nearly as "SNAZZY" as the 44th's yellow facings. So this might explain the initial focus on the 44th. But in hindsight, it would have been nice if the grenadiers had been the 44th with the first regular releases as the 48th --- 2 more flags!!!

The 44th standing and kneeling are definite, I also saw the photo of the two loading 44th figures, so they're definite too. A few weeks ago I told John that I noticed that the new 44th figures didn't have full kits, and asked if he would do sets similar to the 28th. The BM-20 looks similar to the QB-20, two firing in light kits. I asked if he would do a set similar to the QB-22, two firing with full kits, but he said that the BM-02 already had full kits, so these new ones would be different. He said he may do a set though with their hats off, I'm assuming a set like QB-21, but he hasn't gotten there yet. Hope this helps :)

I'm not a huge fan of the hats on and off for otherwise identical sets. Understand the reason John does it and how it adds a bit of variety, but it's been done a few times now. It's probably easier said than done, though, to come up with new poses once you have a certain number of releases.

From what Blake posted, I am thinking the 6th set is not a hatless firing set. :):):)

Yeah, I understand not liking almost identical sets, the variety is good which I like. I know it's been done for the 28th, but for me I don't collect the quebec series, so I wouldn't mind having repeated sets for the 44th, but for guys who collect his British across all the boards, I can see why they'd want more variety. I do like the idea of guys running away, maybe some without muskets as they've lost them to run faster.

It's only two weeks tomorrow  and I will make sure there are plenty of photos taken. ;)

Hi,
I understand your sentiments, but for me figures in 'similar' poses look great en masse. I think otherwise if you collect multiples, and they were exactly the same, you end up with a very uniform (excuse the pun) display of identical figures. I think the way John releases different figures in similar poses looks great in larger displays. Just my tuppence worth.

I agree with you the larger the display the better they look in masse.Well I just broke down and ordered BM-20.I couldn't resist.John if your out there I ordered this, the 2010 collector figure and the new indian. Now I would like some more Frenchman in doorags like I see in paintings, including wounded and dead, officers on both sides, some dead indians too.(not too many as the Brits didn't kill a lot of them at Monongahela).John creativly you may be tired of Monongahela but financally it is by far your most productive range.
Mark

Since BM20 is referred to as Firing Set #1, a second firing set is a pretty safe bet.

I am so happy John has started producing the 44th Regulars.

since i never got a chance at buying a bm-03 :(:(:( a NEW BM-03 would be nice ;););) nudge, nudge, wink, wink, i'm begging on my knee's!!!!!!!!
