Some of you have no doubt received this same email yourselves but here it is for those who haven't -

"After lengthy review/consideration, we will be sending mold masters to factories for bids and hopefully, production.

For those interested, we've posted some thoughts , at length, in the "BLOG" section of the website with regard to NEW plastic, "Older" Plastic and PlaySets. We refer you there should you want the whole nine yards...

Quick summary is that we've decided to make NEW plastic our priority in the plastics arena. Production reruns of Older plastic sets and Playsets will be taking a back seat as we concentrate on NEW figures/sets.

We recently ran some polls on facebook & have also been keeping track of plastic collector requests for many years in an effort to see what you'd most like to see us produce next.

While we've seen continued & substantial support for additions to all of our plastic ranges/series, the Facebook results CLEARLY showed ROMANS and VIKINGS as your #1 requests...

Civil War, WW2, British Colonial (Zulu & NW Frontier) , Foreign Legion were all closely grouped at the next level of interest.

Somewhat surprisingly, Alamo & Ancient Greece trail the pack, making up the 3rd level of interest.

BEFORE WE MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH RANGE/SETS TO TRY FIRST, WE WANTED TO HEAR FROM THE REST OF YOU. PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO SEE FIRST. Email us at contecollectibles@gmail.com or write directly to RC at viceroyz@aol.com"

So, obviously no guarantees but if it comes to pass, I'll be voting for Romans - in red ideally. A range of celts in blue would be the best opposition too. I think the new ones from Exped force will be in tan judging from the pictures, so a point of differentiation there hopefully.

So, get your gripes in of course but what would you like to see?

Would love to see some more WW2 stuff especially some German paratroopers. Other than that some cavalry and apaches would be great. I really have no interest in ancient warfare figures.

Well,for me,WW1-1918 AEF,French and Germans and WW2 Japs.That's it.Poses..we can talk.

UNBELIEVABLE! I would not take anything RC says even with a grain of salt. I am going to produce 20 plastic playsets from Ancient Rome to the Iraq War. That has more of a chance of happening than what Conte just put out.

Come on Gary! Richard Conte was the true trail blazer who ushered in the new age of 1:32/1:30 plastic!
How many amazing sets has he produced??!!
I'll put my faith in him! He just may be testing our reactions to feel out the hobby for a come back?!
I think he will?!
But not, if everyone sounds like you.

Have you been in a coma for the last 10 years? Do you know how many times he has said he was making a come back and absolutely nothing. It astonishes me that any sane person would believe anything Conte said.

And if Richard suddenly releases something you'll be happy and stop discrediting him? ?
Countless Figures, Sets and Playsets have been released by Conte under his brand,
he has good credit in this hobby for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned.
He'll do plastic again and within 3 years, that's my bet Gary!
If I'm wrong, I'll post a photo of myself with a sign around my neck saying The Plastic General is a fool!
CONTE's coming back to plastic!
(Now I'd better call Mr Conte)

The Plastic General

It almost seems like some people WANT Conte to fail. He's released some of the best products on the market over the past few decades. I won't get my hopes up too much over a major revival but I'm standing behind him and his company 100%.

I can see it happen. I stopped collecting for about 10 years because of some personal issues. Sometimes things get complicated.

I think we will see some sets next year in Plastic from Conte. Either Romans or more Vikings most likely. I am just happy for the products that he has made in the past.

Listen, it's not that Conte doesn't, or didn't, make great figures. Everyone knows that he did.

His issue is credibility. Pure and simple.

How many times do you need to be lied to, before you stop believing his press releases?

What's the over/under?
