Here is one of the latest figures by Dragon. The thing that caught my interest was the MP44 he is carrying. It is a MP44 w/Vampyr IR Scope & Battery Backpac. I didn't even realize they had Infrared Scopes in WWII. It is hard to believe the technology Germany was able to produce during the late stages of the war.

"Anton Wessel" - Volksgrenadier w/StG44 "Vampyr" 31.Volksgrenadier-Div. Berlin 1945 (Volksgrenadier)

If there is any doubt as to why German stuff sells better than Allied stuff from WWII look at these two figures. I mean the German gear is just so cool. The GI is a little drab I'm afraid. I really like the Dragon 1:6 stuff. I haven't bought any for about a year now. Maybe time to revisit this aspect of the hobby

I have recently seen a teaser for their spring releases and from what i can make out looks cool. There looks like a British para in there and another outline that looks like a Russian.I am tempted but gotta keep strong and resist,i still have seventy of them in the loft!

Did you collect action man as a kid. That stuff is also worth gold now I am led to believe.

Yes i have eight of them in the loft with some equipment.I love the anniversary issues they are doing now,but they won't have much value.Am still tempted though!.

Rob

I had to give all that stuff away but i have all my Airfix and Britains Deetails though

I'm thinking of getting some 1/72 Aifix figures again. And maybe some Dragon 1/72 vehicles to support themThe range of 1/72 tanks these days is amazing, when i was a kid there was virtually no armoures support!

Rob

True I can only imagine having FOV vehicles with my Airfix 1/32 soldiers.
I would have made some incredible battles in the living room.
Actually I did make some large scale efforts but just imagine adding armour into that! My favourite was reinacting the Normandy landings with the fireplace as the Atlantic wall.

I like that new 1/6th German. they did a similar nachtjager a couple of years back.

I also like the British sniper that I think came out recently.

Rob you can't go wrong with Dragon's 1/72 range. I've got quite a few myself!

They do look cool, might have to get me some of them!.I too like the look of the Dragon sniper and am thinking of getting one of those display boxes and putting him in my office. However the wife calls them Dollys and it makes me feel ashamed!!!!!

Well where does it end........I started with 1/35 scale models, sold them.....Wish I had some of them back...........Went into 1/6 scale. I love them, nothing like real cloth, and you can pose them however you like. I have about 200 of them.........Now Ronnie has to remind me of them again, after I am well embedded in this Hobby, and now he wants me to do a 1/72 and 1/50th Diorama. I know that stuff looks good and could become addictive. George is always telling me about that stuff too. Alex

It really is difficult to stick to one hobby isn't it?.Am tempted by so many and have dabbled in a few of them but finally think i have settled on 1/30.I love 1/6 scale Dragon figures but storage and display are a real problem.

Rob

Although 1/6 scale definitely produces a space problem, I guess any scale eventually does, because you just buy more of it. 1/72 kind of solves that problem, but it is relatively inexpensive so you could buy a ton of that stuff.
Thank God for the Forums, because, I don't know about you guys, when I bring our Hobby up to Friends and Co-workers they look at me like I have two heads. I guess they will never have our space problems, scale decision problems and what to purchase decisions, but they will never experience the joy when that new piece arrives at your door step or you find something you were hunting for at a show.

I am constantly bombarded with temptation because our Sponsors and Members want to see new Dioramas with Civil War, WWI, 1/72nd, 1/50th, 1/35th etc. and we are starting to buckle:eek: Alex

Alex you summed it up superbly.I think the only person apart from those on this forum who really understands is my darling wife. She supports me 100%, buys me things for birthday/xmas that she knows i'm after and has attended many shows with me.But as you say other people think i've landed from Mars!

Rob

My wife does not outwardly support me, but I have extensive HO trains, 1/6th Soldiers, 1/72nd Aircraft and 1/30 and 1/32 Collections. She also weathered a 4 year NASCAR diecast car collection, which has been sold. But she does not bother me about it either. And once and a while she will call me from Walmart or Target, and ask me if I have a certain Forces of Valor or 21st Century piece. She also has come up with some good accessories for my dioramas from Craft and Christmas Stores....Not too bad!!!:) Alex

Yep its always good to have someone else on the team.I love the way my wife can walk in look at my collection of twenty five or more vehicles and name loads of them. She can also give reasons why we won the Battle of Britain and also why the first day of the Somme was such a disaster.I am a very lucky chap...i'd better go and get her dinner on!
