I was informed by Ebay, who I don't use that often, that they won't pay directly to my PayPal account any longer.
They asked for my checking account information, password and SS#......wont do that but does this sound right?

Thanks

yes and no...

Ebay sales received can no longer directly fund your Paypal account...
this has been going on for quite a while...

on selling...you will need to link a bank account or one of your credit cards for funds collected from other buyers...

on purchasing...you can personally fund your Paypal account with money from your personal bank account...
but no longer will funds collected through Ebay go directly to your Paypal account...
they will be deposited in your linked choice...

when I buy on Ebay...or anywhere...using Paypal...
if I have insufficient funds in my Paypal account...
they debit my bank account...

all funds collected from when I sell...
go directly to my bank account...
not to Paypal anymore...

they may ask for your ss# for verification reasons on the bank account or credit card you choose...
but I don't remember if they did on me a year ago when they forced me into this new plan...
still...not an unreasonable request...

but what password are you referring to?

They had me transition over a few months ago and it has worked fine. I use my PayPal account to fund my purchases so now when the money hits my bank account, I then add the amount to my PayPal account. It’s a minor annoyance. I don’t recall them asking for my SS number and certainly not my password.

Thanks for your help, I have resolved without adding the personal information. Ebay is close to being a monopoly in this auction/ buy sell segment of the market.
