These new sets are great! I missed this series!
The first is the Stone Sled Team. Make sure you have someone with little fingers thread the rope through! Good lord - no matter what I did, I still can't get it through the lead guy's back hand. Absolutely great set though!

Yes but where is the Nubian dancer? :)

I used a pair of tweezers and a few swear words for the rope thru the hands.
Both seem to have worked.

I just ordered the 6 new AE sets...
including the sled team...
is it really that hard to thread the rope?

can't imagine it's any harder than the CS chariot or the JJD limber sets...

It's just small and hard to see as the hands are really close to one another.
Nothing too difficult.

On mine, the guy in the front right of the picture, I can’t get it into his second hand and there is no room to pull it through as his back hand lines up with his body. I wonder if it got bent ???

you don't seem to have them set up in the order that Andy had them designed?
his seem to have 2-3 inches excess of twine...

I do not think it's bent, Mine is the same, I thought he was the end guy and the rope stopped with him. I need to look again.

the way it is designed is with all 6 guys facing each other...
you have several of your figures facing outward...
and...
Andy has set it up with the bases much closer to each other than yours...

This is the way I set it up out of the box on unpacking it to shoot a quick photo.
Not sure how I have it on the shelf.IMG_3160.JPG

Chuck...
your set up looks fine to me...
all the figures are facing inwards...
in Andy's picture...
he has the bases of the 6 figures a lot closer to each other...
which I assume gives the illusion of a longer rope...
but your set up looks fine to me...
I was trying to tell Zach he might need to face his figures inwards...
and put them in the order of the K&C pic I posted...

Yes sir I know, I was responding more to the hand being closed on the one figure as I think it is on mine as well.
I will double check when I get home, but I do not think I can pull the rope thru on two of the figures. Only one hand seems to be open all the way.

Chuck...

oooooh...I see...
really?

you're thinking a hand is not drilled through big enough to get the rope through?
if that's the case...then bummer...

let me know if that is the case...
mine should arrive Wednesday...

but that should be a simple fix...
a pin vice and a touch of paint...
nothing major you can't handle...

Yes, that’s the issue. I don’t think it’s drilled though on the last guy.

Got home and all of my figures do have holes in both hands.( there is a joke there I’m leaving alone) There is no manufacture defect. I think it’s just tough to get the rope thru on the one figure as the hand is close to the body.

This is the series that started me collecting K&C and I am glad it is back.

Oh, don’t get me wrong! I am absolutely thrilled Egyptians are back and absolutely love the set!!!!

I didn’t think anything at all like that Zach. By the way your collection is stunning.
I still can’t get the rope thru myself and thought maybe there wasn’t a hole when I read your post.
But watch, Mike is so good at this stuff he’ll not only get the rope thru he’ll make the fingers wrap around the rope:p

I missed all the Egyptians the first time and have been paying eBay prices when I can get them at a decent price. Still need a cleopatra’s needle and opening of the mouth ceremony. It’s a great series.

Chuck...
I agree...
this is one of my favorite series...
I'm delighted Andy is revisiting it...
not a weapon drawn in the whole series....
which is nice in itself...

I'm ready for another set of dancing girls...
like dead Zulus...
you can't have enough dancing girls...^&grin

I would also encourage some straight wall sections...
painted in the same scheme that match the Pharaoh's Gate (AE053)...or The Wall Gods (AE054)...
something that would allow a long...wide...backdrop for displays...
maybe something like 12" wall sections on each side would look really good for photos...

I already have the wall gods and gate. And I have thought of making my own as it would be pretty easy.
