Hi Ana,

By now, you must know I love your Durbar elephants! This latest introduction is truly spectacular! My compliments to you and yours for such a fantastic job! Thanks for sharing the pictures and thanks for producing these outstanding figures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Outstanding indeed! I wonder how long it takes to paint one of these?

My wife would insist it was all decals.......like my Russian Federation Pieces!

She enjoys giving me and the dealer the business:eek::D:D:)

Thank you, guys :)

It takes a few days to have an elephant ready, and about 2 months to have the sculture.

I'm glad that you liked it. I painted the sample for the picture myself :)

My compliments, you have a very good painters eye for detail :).

Shame you don't sell castings, I wouldn't mind having a go at one myself.

Regards

No decals here...it was quite humbling a few years ago when I went to the Beau Geste studio to learn to paint. I sat next to Lucila (the only painter other than Ana that paints elephants) and repainted buttons and eyes umpteen times on the figures I was working on as she sat there freehand painting the tapestry on an elephant. I couldn't believe what she could do with a regular old paint brush. We were using the same paints and the same brushes...amazing.

Shannon,

You wouldn't happen to know if these are available as castings?

Thanks

Jeff

Oh I do not want to know the answer to that! My beating heart can not take the excitement.

Shannon did you have any pictures taken during that trip?

Beau Geste does not sell castings--there are quite a few 'copycat' companies in Argentina the way it is and they don't want to make things any easier for them to reproduce their work. Also if they don't sell castings they can control the look of the finished product.
Although they don't sell castings they are happy to customize the painting for individuals.
Vamp-good idea on posting images. Before the album feature it was much more difficult to post large groupings of pictures. I just might have to add a new album with pics from Argentina. Stay tuned...

Thank you Shannon, I didn't think they did, but it was worth asking anyway. :)

I live to serve oh exalted dictatress! Dodged a casting bullet with that one. Copycat companies? Really?

Hi Shannon,

I am highly interested in seeing photos of your trip to the Beau Geste facility in Argentina. I hope you are able to add the new album before too long. Please let us know when it is available for viewing.

Also, I am interested in learning if Lucila will be in Chicago this year. In addition to Ana, I had Lucila autograph the box of the elephant I purchased. At the time, and with great pride, Lucila told me she had painted my elephant. She seemed both humbled and pleased that I asked her to add her signature next to Ana's. Her painting skills, as well as those of Ana, are absolutely incredible! I would like to obtain her autograph on another box I have.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)
