Just wondered how nice the farm house compared to the pictures I see. Does the walls break down into pieces? How does it look with the Napoleonics? Also Andy, when will the last set of the farm house get released....the accessories?

Cheers
Wellington........:)

I got my set on Saturday. It is really cool. I understand the reasons, but I would like to have seen a fully dimensional buidling. Althought the farm house is neat. The wall comes in five sections, including the gate. I spent about an hour just arranging them to see what the possibilities are. I also have the FormTech Hougmount Farm set and when I combined the two, well let me just say that room is a real issue but they really do look good together. I am thinking of getting the Formtech Clapboard House and adding it to the mix. Hougmount Farm (and yes I know I am a bad speller) had several buildings, not just the set that Formtech made. When you add all the walls from both sets and the buildings, its about 6 square feet of diorama. I am going to be seeing if individual pieces of the wall can be obtained, either through eBay or in partnership with another collector. I would like to get just one or two of the wall pieces to complete an idea I have. I put about 50 of my Highlanders around the final version and do they ever add to it and does it ever add to them. It also looks great with WWII men, both German and US. I have it on my dining room table and plan to work with it tonight to see the different looks it can present. :) Michael

And, when and what are the next Napoleonic's to be released.:D

Just want to be sure of the dimensions they are....16.54 inches by 12.40 inches and 9.84 inches high, am I correct with my estimates?? Thanks for the support Sceic2!!
How big are the boxes they come in?

Wellington

The size is dependent upon how you arrange them. But, in the original layout that is shown on the web is about the size you mentioned.

The farm house comes in a box larger than the size that a large tank comes in, about 2 times. In comparison to the farm yard it is flatter. The farm yard comes in a box about three quarters the size of the tenament building. They both are big boxes. They have wonderful graphics on them and protect their contents very well indeed. The boxes from K&C are becoming more attractive with each generation. I wish all the Napoleonics would have come in the newer graphic boxes and not the plain green or the green with the seal on them. Michael:)

And what are the new Napoleonic's and when will they be released.

Received my farm house today boy is it ever nice just as good as you have said it was Sceic2!!!!! I notice on the web K&C site the same farm house but painted a different color...wonder if that one will come available....it would make a good back drop (just the house).
I was thinking of buying a couple good quality British and French Napoleonic hats to act as an accent for my collection..has anyone else done this??

Next my loyal Kings German Legion.......

I noticed the different color also. I would appear to be the same building just a different color. If your are ballzy, break-out your air brush and go to town.;) Michael

And what are the new Napoleonic's and when will they be released.

Hey guys, I too had noticed the different color versions presented on K&C's website. I like the grey tone better. What color version is actually being shipped?

The guy to talk to about collecting Napoleonic hats is my good friend Doug Luna, who will be at the symposium. As far as actually purchasing old military headgear and uniform pieces, the gentleman to talk to is the former K&C dealer from Chicago, Bill Hurlbutt, who sells these items at very reasonable prices.

Thanks for the tip on the Napoleonic stuff. I once collected original militaria but sold off my collection. I can't afford original stuff anymore, only my K&C. This is alot cheaper for me as a past time. There are some really nice reproductions out there I wouldn't mind getting. I will start off with the "WATERLOO SHAKO" to the 23rd Foot!! This regiment is the one portrayed by Lady Butler named Quatre Bras (forming the square against french calvary). Got to love it.....:) http://www.victorianweb.org/painting/misc/thompson1.html
