I am sure I am not the only Jenkins collector, who finds that one of the great biproducts of collecting is reading through the related litterature, and for that purpose the British publishing firm Osprey has released quite a lot of titles!

This April sees the release of two new titles of Jenkins interest:

"North American Indian Tribes of the Great Lakes" (Men-at-Arms #467), which have chapters on both the French-Indian War and the War of 1812!

"The Jacobite Rebellion 1745–46" (Essential Histories #72)

Good info. For those not familier, Osprey has at least 3 other 1745 related titles.
1- The Jacobite Rebellions, 1689-1745 by Mike Barthorp. Men-at-Arms #118.
Published initially in 1982.
2- Highland Clansman 1689-1746 by Stuart Reid. Warrior Series #21.
Published in 1997.
3- Culloden Moor 1746: The Death of the Jacobite Cause by Stuart Reid.
Campaign Series #106. Published in 2002.
They are all well done and illustrated. -- Al

Yep definitely all great titles, but my favourite Osprey title for Culloden is:

The Scottish Jacobite Army 1745–46 by Stuart Reid. Elite #149. Published in 2006.

Thanks for the title, Niels. I didn't know about that one. Don't know how I missed it. -- Al

Amazon.com

anybody interested in purchasing "used" Ospreys...

I bought a couple the War of 1812 the other day on amazon.com...

some as low as .66 cents an issue...

many copies for less than $1.00...

of course the shipping is usually $3.99...:)

I've been looking for a long time for one called Montcalm's Army.

Mark...

why are some of the issues so expensive...

do they not do "second runs" when sold out...

do the "sold outs" become "retired issues" like metal soldiers...

I looked at a couple of 3 issues at my house and they have an msrp of $16.95to $18.95 US Dollar...

why is that issue you're looking for have an asking price of $45.00???

Because it was one of the older titles. They haven't reprint it so it is rare. Can you believe that a book I bought a couple of years ago for $50 is bringing over $900 now.You know what the sad thing is.I sold it for $10 a few months ago.:mad::eek:

Hi Mark. I'm curious, as a former military book collector/dealer, was this book you are talking about a military book? If you don't mind, could you give me the title? This is just professional curiosity. Thanks. -- Al
